Sugi:
Since the moment we met, he took my heart. Why did I tell him to leave? It was magic baby, don't pull away. Don't go away. I'm sorry.
Sugi removed his mask and let the salty tears flow down his cheeks. The lingering warmth of their sweet kiss still on his lips.
Having witnessed the exchange, Fay came quietly close to him and put her arms around him. She pulled him closer still as he cried. "Baby, you know I love you. Go after him or you'll regret it."
Sugi buried his face. "What have I done? It's too late!" He cried in anguish.
"I'm sorry Fae, I'm sorry I couldn't love you how you wanted!"
"I know and it doesn't change my love for you." She kissed his head lovingly as if he was her precious child. "Come back okay? I will wait for you and I promise not to stand in your way."
"What about Vante?"
"He'll come back for me. Don't worry," she said.
"He's in love with you, you know."
"I don't see it," she said. "All his paintings are of you. He's obsessed with you."
"You are the one that can't see he is too scared to tell you cause he's afraid you will reject him. I may be his muse but he's not in love with me. That's why he's upset."
Fae is surprised by his words and she sees them as a chance to comfort him. "Yet he left me, you see. Maybe Jimon loves you too."
Sugi wiped his tears and went back to his room to change. He was determined to find Jimon and bring him back.
He took off on foot, the misty veil of night blurring his vision soon followed by his tears. Sugi felt desperate to get him back. 'Why does everyone leave me?'
The further he endeavored into the wood, the more his feet sank into the damp soggy ground. Ahead of him, he saw the footsteps marking a path for him to follow. Hope filled his heart as he called Jimon, but the divine melody of the wood seemed to engulf his voice. He no longer felt alone surrounded by forest creatures, frogs, crickets, and birds all demanding his attention. Still, he cried out his name into the night till his voice was hoarse. He collapses on the cold ground exhausted and cold the ache in his heart unbearable. A sudden breeze fills the air with whispering and scents of an unseen form that seems familiar. He no longer feels afraid as moonlight and shadow form a web of enchantment that fireflies are drawn to expose. His mother's beautiful face appears before him like a vision, and he can hear her voice in his mind.
'Don't give up my child. Picture him in your mind and you will find him. That is my gift to you. Then tell him how you feel or it was all for naught.'
"Mother!"
'Rest a bit before you continue your search. There is a reason he is the first one that can see your beautiful eyes. He is your destiny.'
Sugi looks up at her beautiful face.
"Mama, I miss you!"
"I'm always here watching over you. Don't be scared of the woods for it is here that I dwell in the veil between worlds."
