All through training, exercise and lunch, Jax kept giving me meaningful looks and I was beginning to get tired of them. As Rachael took a swig of her water, I could feel her eyes on me. Screwing the cap back on, her eyes flicked from me to Jax."Is there something going on between you two?" I panted as I dropped my weapon, barely managing to hide my surprise.
"Something going on between us?" I forced a short, unbelievable laugh from my mouth "No. He's just closer to me now." Rachael shrugged.
"He is your trainer. I guess it's great if you guys bond. But just be careful. You have to focus on your moves now, not him."
I ran a hand through my messy hair."I know that. Nothing's going on between us." Rachael nodded quickly and got back to her training. Feeling tired, I went over to a bench in the room and sat down. Just as I was starting to gather enough strength to get up, Jamie and Claire walked up to me. I really didn't need more taunting and insults. Her sneers from across the room and demeaning taunts on the first day were enough to make me know I didn't want her around me.
"I saw you training today. You're doing pretty well." My eyebrows shot up at Jamie's praise. Was she being nice to me?
"Um...thanks." She smiled widely, reminding me of a hawk smiling down at its prey.
"It's no problem at all." After an awkward pause, Jamie asked me a surprising question.
"Would you like to have lunch with us today?" She pointed at herself and then Claire. I didn't want to sit with them and I was already suspicious of their behaviour towards me but I didn't want to get them mad if they were actually being nice to me.
Claire must've sensed my discomfort because she said: "Don't worry. It's a lot of fun with us."
I clenched my jaw and put on a fake smile. "Okay then. I'll see you at break." A grin spread on both of their faces and Jamie walked up to me.
"The cafeteria, you can come without food. I'll buy you some."
I smiled uncomfortably and nodded my head. Jamie and Claire smiled back before walking off.
"See ya soon."

"What was that about?" Rachael asked me, as I collected an apple and an energy drink from the counter.
"What was what about?" I answered, pretending not to know. She crossed her arms.
"You know what I'm talking about. Why were Jamie and Claire talking to you?" I said a small 'oh' before answering.
"Maybe because people tend to talk to one another." I said sarcastically. Rachael rolled her eyes.
"Okay, don't say I didn't warn you. You can talk to people but not the wrong kind of people." I raised an eyebrow.
"They're the wrong kind, I presume?"
"Yes, they are." I sucked my teeth and fumbled with the brown paper bag in my hand containing the apple and energy drink.
"They're the wrong kind of people but they asked me to sit with them at lunch." I carefully avoided Rachael's eyes as hers went wide.
"They asked you to sit with them?! Oh no. This is a set up, Glow. I can just feel it." I bent my head, not knowing what to do.
"You think I shouldn't sit with them?" Rachael nodded her head quickly.
"Yes. Don't sit with them! They're nothing but trouble. They always prey on the new ones and then get them to spill secrets and utterly destroy that person. All for fun."
