A few minutes of complete silence followed and Silence was convinced that this was all a joke.
First of all, who even uses a bird to send letters anymore?
Secondly, why would anyone even want to send a letter to them of all people?
Silence Summers did not have friends, and Hope had surely given up on making friends because he stuck with his brother everywhere.
Last of all, what kind of person sends a letter to someone, without addressing anyone at all?
Was it a spy?
A stalker?
A...murderer?
Silence tried to cast those thoughts away, but looked out of the window just to be sure there wasn't a man in a hood waiting outside.
Thankfully, no man was there.
Maybe the letter wasn't for either of them?
Maybe it was for their mother or father?
"Do you think it's a person who wants to be our friend?" Asked Hope.
Silence snorted.
As if.
"It's probably for mom and dad. Maybe for one of their secret illegal shopping spree things?"
"Mom and dad are doing secret illegal shopping?!" Hope practically shouted with wide eyes.
"I was joking, you weirdo."
And of course, that made Hope gasp.
"Silence Summers has the ability to joke about stuff? IT'S THE END OF THE WORLD!" Hope flailed his arms about and Silence tried his best to resist the urge to punch the other boy.
"Anyway, we should probably get this to mom and dad," said Silence.
His brother gave a small grunt if agreement before practically flying out through the doorway, shouting for their parents at the top of his lungs.
Silence followed after, and as he walked down the wooden stairs, he heard his parents approaching his brother, eyes filled with concern.
Do bear in mind that Mr and Mrs Summers were not the 'average' parents.
Mrs Summers, or better known as Juliet Summers, was a tall, slim lady with light green eyes and bright blue waste-length hair. She had a modeling career and had a huge collection of outfits.
Mr Summers, also known as Robin Summers, was a thin man with blue eyes and jet-black hair. He was an actor and also a popular author.
"What's wrong, Hope?" Asked Robin.
Hope looked at his father and yelled, "A pigeon gave us a letter!"
Robin and Juliet raised an eyebrow each, not buying what their son had said.
"Hope, you're 14, not 5. I think that's enough pretending," said Juliet.
Hope, however, stood his ground and looked over his shoulder at Silence who had climbed down the last step.
"Ask Silence! He has the letter! He has the proof!"
Silence handed the letter to his parents and they examined it silently.
"Hmm. Must be one of those pranksters. I'm sure you won't receive anymore letters after this. Don't worry about it, boys," assured Robin.
Hope seemed to calm down after that, but Silence still felt skeptical.
In fact, a bad feeling seemed to have settled in his stomach.
