Devin's mom offered to pay for 3 of the 6 of us, when we went to Lenny's a week later. She paid for Scotty, Devin and me. Casey picked up Marcos and Bradley's tab. I looked over towards the kitchen and tapped Casey on the shoulder. He looked over. "Ahh, fuck..." He grunted. It was the cheerleader Scotty insulted at the party. She was pointing towards our table while talking to this waiter with dark hair that went just above his ears parted in the middle, he had a big ears and a narrow shaped chin. He walked over to our table. "Hello, my name is Winston, can I start you guys off with a drink?" "We'll just start off with waters... We're gonna need a few minutes before we order..." "Well... If you order waters, I'm gonna need that entree order now because the waters come free!" "Um, okay, I'll just have a Soda then, for now!" I said. "Okay, well they still need to order something..." "Seriously, dude?! My mom's paying for half of this stuff anyway, just go ask her!" "All the more reason to order something, if she's paying..." Winston snapped.
Devin hopped over the empty booth behind us and walked over to his mom and explained. She rolled her eyes and walked over. "Winston, let them have their waters and give them a little space... It's okay..." "That's taking money out of my pocket for tip!" He whispered. She pointed, as he walked to the beverage dispenser. "Wait, Mrs. Jefferies!" Casey calls out. "Can you make sure they don't do anything to our food or water...?" She rolled her eyes and walked over near Winston. "That bitch..." Scotty muttered. "If it wasn't for her, this guy might not be such an asshole..." "You're the one that started with her in the first place!" Casey barked back. "You should just apologize to her, I'm sure she'll understand!" Bradley squeaked.
"Calvin, I need to get out..." I stood up and Scotty slid past me. The seating arrangements went like this: I was sitting on the side facing the entrance, Scotty was next to me on the right and then Casey was next to him. Devin was between Bradley and Marcos, facing the wall. Scotty walked over to the waitress. I could barely hear what was being said, but from what I could make out, Scotty said "Hey, look, I'm really sorry about last week... You're friends with my first love..." "Whatever, fuck off..." She replied. Scotty stormed back, Mrs. Jefferies walked over to the girl and started waving her finger at her. "Somebody is getting lectured..." Devin said. "Fuckin' bitch... The whole squad acts the same!" Scotty muttered.
Winston walked over and handed us our waters. "Okay, look, let's start over... I'll be nice to you, if you guys are nice to me..." "We... Weren't really mean.." I replied. "Well, just be cool when it's time to pay the bill..." "That would be totally up to you!" Devin replied. "Are you guys ready to order?" "Still need a couple minutes..." I said. Winston took a deep breath and smiled "K..." Then he walked away. Waiters deserve a lot of respect for putting up with crap, but some of them can be a bit too uptight. This could have been handled in a very balanced order, but he chose to give attitude instead. The guy was a dick! If you wonder why your tip was lower than it should have been, be grateful you got anything if you came off as rude to a customer! A half hour later, our food arrived. I ordered a cheeseburger and fries. Scotty had a Bacon Cheeseburger with Cream of Chicken Soup. Casey ordered spicy BBQ Chicken strips with Ranch. Bradley ordered a salad. Devin ordered a Soy Burger with cheese, a bowl of veggies on one side and a bowl of fruit on the other. His mom walked over and handed him some Grapefruit juice. "Just in case you want some..." She said, as she smiled and walked away. Marcos ordered mozzarella sticks and onion rings.
"But seriously, man..." Casey grunted in his rough tone. "You need to calm down. Your 'girlfriend' if you can even call her that, betrayed you. You should be happy she's gone!" "I should be HAPPY she betrayed me?! Fuck no, that pisses me off!" "I didn't say that... I said you should be happy she's GONE!" "Easy for you to say..." Scotty mumbled. "I'm glad you brought that up, actually. Here's a great example. I bet you guys didn't know Kellie and I broke up weeks ago, did ya?" "You did?" I replied. Casey nodded "We just didn't feel like we were in love anymore... Have I lost my shit ONCE?!" "She didn't stab you in the back!" Scotty snapped. "Okay, so let's say that she did..." Devin intervened. "Let's say they lost their love for each other because secretly, she stabbed him in the back... Feeding fuel to that fire...Does not make it burn away!" Devin looked over, as a blonde girl walked towards them to get back to her seat. Devin smiles and looks at Scotty. "Scotty, come on! Do it with me, man.." "What?" "You know what I'm about to yell..." "No way, man!" "Dude, just let go and have fun! Levanta! Let it out!" Then, as she crossed our table, they both shouted "BOOBS!" and busted out laughing. Scotty shook his head. I glanced over at Devin's mom who was looking over at Devin, waiting for him to make eye contact with her. Devin looked over at her and shrugged. "Sorry!" He shouted to her.
