November 3rd, 2002, we were playing a show in Seattle, WA. After touring a few months. There was something about Seattle that reminded me of California. Probably the manner in which a lot of the people acted, they were very friendly, but a lot of them were very stuck up and snobby, too. This doesn't mean that the people of Seattle are snobs, just some of the people I have come across. A lot of them got into our set that night, but you could tell a lot of networking was going on. After our show we hung out at the merch table and had band members from other bands who were in the crowd, giving us copies of their demos with their websites on it, telling us to check them out. It was kind of a weird experience. We still had a lot of fun.

Scotty got up quick and excused himself. He chased this short, dark haired guy down, who was wearing a hoodie. He was really wide eyed with bags underneath his eyes. Scotty stopped him and asked him something. They looked around and then the guy patted Scotty on the shoulder, as they walked off. We collected our cash for the night and hung out with the Dedd in the lot. There were a lot of people hangin' outside. It was almost like we had our own party. We were all talking and listening to music coming from the bus. Scotty was M.I.A again. Blake came up to me with this dark haired girl with a chubby face and a big rack. "Hey Cal, this is Missy." I nodded to her. "I've got a little challenge for you..." He said as they laughed. He slid a flask between her breasts, so that the width sides were touching each breast. "I'll give you 50 dollars, if you can put your hands behind your back, take the flask out with your mouth and take a swig without using your hands!" A few of the guys start cheering around us. I shook my head and smiled. "Nah..." "Oh come on, man. I'm not askin' you to sleep with her. That's my job!" He said, as she squeezed him and laughed. He started chanting "Cal-vin! Cal-vin! Cal-vin! Cal-vin!" The crowd around us joined in. I finally rolled my eyes and dove down to grab the flask. Blake shoved my face down and they laughed. I pulled the flask out and tilted my head back and took a swig and I even put the flask back into her rack with my mouth, to add some humor to the situation. They all cheered and Blake handed me 5, ten dollar bills, I made 50 dollars.

This fake looking blonde girl, whose face looked tan and plastic like a Barbie with a big rack, pressed herself against me. She tries to kiss me, but I lean back. "Nah, nah, nah..." I said. She looked at me in disgust. "What? So she's good enough for you, but I'm not?!" She snapped. "She didn't try to kiss me, that was just a dare..." I said. "Oh, so if I pay you 20 dollars, will you?" I swung around her and walked away. Even if I wasn't with Sarah, I wouldn't hook up with a girl who looks like a sex doll. Some guys just get it when they can, I have to feel attracted or connected in some way to the person, before getting into anything with them.

I got annoyed and hung out on the bus with Mark and Uncle Jared. "How come you aren't partying out there with your band?" "Avoiding crazy groupies..." I said. Uncle Jared shook his head. "This is why you either bring your girl on the road or you split! Too many complications!" "We can make it work. It's possible... She trusts me, I trust her..."
-
Uncle Jared just shook his head at me, then he and Mark laughed. I wanted her to come with me, she's the only girl I wanted to make love to. Trust me, I was feeling it, at that moment. As I looked out the window at the crowd, my band and tour mates, I felt somewhat disconnected. I felt like things weren't as much fun, with everything I was trying to avoid. All of the temptation with drugs, alcohol and women, I felt like I was trapped in a box. I felt out of place. I watched them all, vicariously. A tall girl with long, dark hair took Marcos by the hand and brought him to her van. Even Marcos, who rarely said a word, was getting laid! I pulled my phone out and decided to give Sarah a call.
