First person POV: Skylar Parker
The week was a blur. Peter had disappeared. Aunt May wandered the apartment with a pale face and empty eyes. Peter returned. Aunt May cried. I saw him; felt him hug me. I didn't respond... he didn't deserve a response."Skylar?" he asked me. "Come on, sis."
I remained silent, not making eye contact. He'd left me, his twelve year old sister. For what? To go to space? To save the world? I guess so, but still, he didn't know what he'd put me and Aunt May through. He'd really put her through hell this time. She had been a complete wreck. For something about a Thanos? Who the heck was Thanos? Why was he so important that Peter left to fight him? What could he possibly do? Worse than Loki? Ultron? It couldn't be worse than them.
"Sky, talk to me," Peter pleaded softly, holding my shoulders.
I didn't want to talk to him. I was mad, furious actually. But mostly I was scared; terrified that one day he wouldn't come home. I don't know what May and I would do if he didn't come home.
He stared into my eyes that mirrored his own chocolate brown ones. I still said nothing. He finally pushed my purple glasses onto my plain, messy brown hair. Then he pulled my face into his stupidly muscular chest.
"I missed you Brown Eyes," he whispered. "I'm sorry I left, but I had to go. I had to help. When you can do what I can, you have to help. Otherwise, many people will get hurt. And you know I can't let that happen."
I knew he couldn't stand by while people were in danger. I just wished that somehow it wouldn't mean him being in danger too. I felt the tears sting my eyes; they started to fall. I couldn't be mad at him for saving people. But I could still be worried; worried about what could happen to him twenty-four/seven.
"Oh don't cry sissy! It's ok," he cooed. I didn't think it was ok. I wasn't ok. So I cried into his dirty, blood covered suit. He rubbed my back with comforting whispers. Soon enough, I felt Aunt May's arms slip around us. We sat in a group hug for a long time. A very long time.
Eventually, the phone rang. May ran to answer it. I looked up at Peter with my tear-streaked face. "I will forgive you," I started, "if you tell me everything."
He smiled softly and nodded, "You got it."
"And, do my chores for a month," I added.
"That's pushing it," he smirked.
"Two months."
"Skylar!"
"Three, going on four...." I sang.
"Fine," he rolled his eyes, "I'll do two."
I smiled, "Deal." We shook hands. "Now, tell me everything that happened."
"Right now?"
"Yes, now."
"Yeah... no. I'm going to go shower and change into real clothes first."
"Fine, but hurry!"
"I'm hurrying!" he shouted, running to his room.
Ten minutes later, the three of us sat on the couch together. Peter began the story. He told from when he snuck off the bus to when Thanos left him and Tony Stark on Titan.
"How'd you get off Titan?" I asked.
"We used Quill's ship. Doctor Strange told us to go to Wakanda. So that's what we did. We went to Wakanda. Oh! The princess there, her name is Shuri, and—"
