Running over to help Mike, Beverly was there first seeing the scene play out. The bowers gang was beating and tormenting Mike, about to pummel him with a rock. Just before though, she picked up a rock throwing it at his head. That's when the rest of them arrived.
"Nice throw." Stan said, astonished. "Thanks." Bev smiled. "You losers are trying too hard. She'll do you, so will the other two. All you have to do is ask nicely. Like I did." Henry smirked vigorously grabbing at his crotch. Ben have a loud scream while throwing a rock aiming perfectly at Henry's head.
"Rock war!" Richie yelled, as he himself got hit by a rock. It was total chaos rocks flying everywhere as Mike managed to go over to the losers without getting hit. One by the one the bowers gang ran off; leaving only Henry behind. Then, the losers started to Walk off as well. Richie was left behind though, not really liking the comment about Reilly.
"Go blow your dad you mullet wearing asshole." Richie yelled flipping him off and then following the rest of the group. "Thanks, but you guys shouldn't have done that. He'll be after you guys now." Mike told them. "Oh bowers? He's always after us." Eddie chuckled. "W-we're just losers I guess." Bill spoke. "Yeah, welcome to the losers club." Richie said.
••••••••••
Bill looked at the missing poster of Ed Corcoran. They were at the 4th of July parade, Kids and families alike all out to have fun. "Th-they said they f-found his arm chewed off." Bill said, digging his hands into his pockets. "I asked to borrow a pencil once." Ben sighed. Eddie has come back with an ice cream for him and Richie.
"How come you're always nice to us?" Stan asked Keira who was sitting on a bench next to him. "Who me and Riley?" She questioned. "Yeah, I mean. We're not the most popular at school. I'd think you'd be Friends with some jocks or something." Stan said. "Well, I like you guys. I don't think you're losers at all." Keira said.
"Even me? The Jewish boy, who's afraid of a painting in his fathers office?" Stan chuckled at himself. Keira entertained her fingers with him, cause him to look into her eyes. "Especially you." She smiled making the curly haired boy blush, with a smile. Bill looked once more at the missing posters, seeing Betty's.
"It's like she's forgotten." Bill said. "Is it ever going to end?" Beverly sighed. "I think it will end. At least for a while." Ben hoped. "What do you me?" Riley asked, confused. "Well, I was going over all my data research and i charted Out all the big events. The ironworks explosion in 1908, the Bradley gang in '32, and the black spot in '65, and now kids being...I realized that this stuff seems to happen every 27 years." Ben explained.
They all gathered around the benches that Keira and Stan were already at. "So, let me get this straight. IT come out from wherever to eat kids for like a year and then what? It just goes back into hibernation?" Eddie questioned. "It's like...what's it called? Cicadas. Those bugs that come out every 17 years?" Stan asked.
"My grandfather thinks this town is cursed. Like every bad thing that's happened is because of one thing. An evil thing that feeds on the people of Derry." Mike chimed in. "That's insane though, it can't be true right?" Riley spoke. "But, it can't be only one thing. We all saw something different." Stan pointed out.
"Maybe it knows what we're scared of most and that's what we see." Mike added. "I saw a leper. It was like a walking infection." Eddie shuttered at the just the mere thought of it. "I s-saw Georgie." Bill said. "But you didn't." Stan started. "Because it isn't real. Not Eddie's leper, or bill seeing Georgie, or Beverly seeing the blood or the woman I keep seeing.." Stan said looking down.
Keira squeezed his hand comforting him. Richie took notice of that and just couldn't resist. "Is she as hot as you think Keira is, or as hot as Riley?" Richie asked shooting Riley a wink, as she rolled her eyes. "Shut it, tozier." She spat. "No, Richie! She's not hot!" Stan exclaimed. "Keira's not? You think she's ugly?" Richie continued to push.
"What? No! I mean...yes." He looked over at her, who had a slightly amused smile on her face. "I think you're beautiful. He's making me mess up." Stan mutter to her, as she nodded. "But that's not the point!" Stan redirected his voice to the group. "Wow, this is awkward..." Eddie said. "What the hell." Stan rolled his eyes.
"They're all just bad dreams." Riley said, picking up what Stan meant to say. "No it isn't. I know the difference between a bad dream and real life, okay?" Mike freaked. "Did you see something too?" Beverly asked him. "Do you guys know that burnt down house on Harris avenue? Well, I was inside when it burned down. My parents were in the other room, trapped. They tried to get to me but it was too hot." Mike explained.
"By the time the firemen found them, their skin was burned to the bone..." Mike trailed off, the hurtful memory clearly taking a toll on him. "Shit." Riley said. "Got That right." Richie fixed his glasses. "What are you afraid of Richie?" Eddie asked. "Clowns." He said. "What are you afraid of Keira?" Stan asked. "The worst thing to afraid of. It's inevitable and I can't stop it." Keira spoke. "W-What is it?" Bill asked.
"I'm afraid to die."
