"Dark and difficult times lie ahead. Soon we must all face the choice between what is right and what is easy."
The Lioness gently wiped her hands on a cloth that M.E.C.H. had supplied for her in her pack. The red human blood bleeding into the white fabric.
The Lioness's nose wrinkled slightly at the smell of the rather fat man that lay on the ground dead. His blood oozing out from his big-cat scratches.
A low beeping made the Lioness move to her pack that she had discarded in the fight. The man may have put up a fight for her, but he had nothing on her skill or her shifting abilities.
The Lioness blinked emotionlessly at the burner phone that she had retrieved from the pack.
'Return to base immediately.'
The Lioness didn't take a look back at the mess of the office that the receptionist would no doubt find in the morning when the receptionist had to take the firm's boss's morning tea to him. The boss that was now dead.
As soon as the Lioness exited the building, all cameras and alarms turned back on.
She swung her leg over her plain black motorcycle, her black leather outfit helping melt her into the darkness as she started up the automobile and disappearing into the night.
No one, but M.E.C.H. and herself would ever know that she had been there.
The Lioness's welcome back on a job well done was her being led into another part of the building that they were in.
An odd feeling was in the air as the Lioness walked after the scientist Issac.
Her blank, emotionless eyes never strayed from looking forward as quite a few people would stop and stare at the eighteen and a quarter year old girl who was being treated as if she was royalty(well, as much "royalty" as you could get around here).
The Lioness entered the massive room after Issac held open the door for her.
Her entrance to the room made almost everyone's eyes dart to the Lioness. All but one(or two if you counted Silas).
Lang's eyes never left the equation that was on the screen in front of him. An annoyed look on his face as he tried to work out how it answered.
"X is equal to 5.8291," The Lioness said once she had stopped a good three meters away from Lang.
The man nodded his head slowly in thought before grinning as he realized that she was right, "Good work today, Lioness," he said, turning around to face her.
The Lioness didn’t move as he took a couple steps forward.
"Silas will be fully functional in twenty-four hours approximately," Lang said, "Make sure that you are present when the time comes, Lioness."
The Lioness nodded her head in acceptance before gracefully spinning on her heels and walking off back to her quarters.
Issac watched after the Lioness, a frown on his face as she left.
EEkk. I'm so excited for this book.
I hope you enjoy the second part of Leon's and Ironhide's story!!!!
