Madara POV

I let out a groan as I slowly opened my eyes, wincing at the pain that came with it as I forced them open, only to see sunlight pouring into the room. I groggily got up, wondering what on earth had occurred when I noticed both Yukiko and Izuna laying down on either side of me. I ran over to Izuna's side, lowering my head over his heart and letting out a huge sigh of relief when I heard his steady heartbeat.

I then turned my attention to Yukiko, who was sleeping peacefully a few ways away as I then made my way over to her, crouching by her futon as I gently pushed a strand of stray hair behind her ear. There were no words to express how utterly grateful I was towards her. Despite most probably knowing that I'd lied to her at this point, she still put her all into saving Izuna, never giving up on him and even giving me Izuna's gift.

It was then that I knew I could never let her go, even though I knew she would hate me when she woke up - hate me for lying to her for so long ; lies of peace and of no more meaningless deaths. I slowly moved her head so that it was resting in my lap, letting out a small smile as she snuggled into my embrace.

If.....there was no more fighting......they would be safe, right? I had to consider the possibility that Izuna could never fight again, seeing as he'd have to rely on his other four senses to help him get along. If possible, I would like Yukiko to help perform a surgery on Izuna's eyes. I will get him a new pair of normal eyes - anything, to help him see again. But even with that, I would prefer it if Izuna never stepped out onto the battlefield again. After witnessing him being cut down in front of me....and being hopeless to do anything.....the feeling was sick, awful, dreadful. Your own kin, dying......yet you can do nothing to help him.

I closed my eyes as I tried to drive those images away when I heard a soft moan. It was Yukiko. Coughs racked her body as I fetched her a glass of water, tipping her head up slightly so she could drink it. "M-madara? Is that you?" she whispered as I rubbed her soft cheek tenderly while nodding. "How's Izuna?! Is he ok?!" She suddenly tried to sit up as I pushed her down again, covering her with the blanket. "He's fine. Get some rest, we'll take more when you wake up." I soothed as she gave a reluctant nod before returning to sleep.

I knew I couldn't force Yukiko to fight for me any longer, not after all she had done for Izuna. I would settle this on my own. This was my fight now.

It was time to end this.
