The Land

Adriens POV

  My mother always told me stories before bed. She told me stories about mermaids and fairies and I always believed them, but my father in the other hand never did. He always thought it was stupid, silly fairy tales. I missed her, it's been two years since she passed, I'm sixteen now and life with just a my dad isn't ideal, "Hey dad, I'm going for a walk" I step out the door and start walking.
     We don't live to far from the beach so I decided to head there, I sat down on a rock watching the ocean. I looked out into the ocean and for a split second I saw some-sort if tail maybe a dolphin, but it wasn't a normal color it was a pink and yellow. I blinked a few times and it got closer. I couldn't believe it, a mermaid pulled herself into the shore. I quietly sat up and walked over, "m-miss are you ok?" the mermaid jumped and turned around.

  She looked scared, "D-Don't hurt me." she tried to back up but I reassured her.

  I stopped moving, "I'm not going to hurt you. It's ok, but we have to get you somewhere safe before someone else sees you." she looked at me as if she still didn't trust me but she slowly nodded. I didn't how I was going to get her to my house then a red dot started floating closer until it was a bright red ball.

  The ball slowly formed into some sort of bug, "Hello, I am Tikki." I froze remembering how my mom would say magical creatures often helped other creatures in need. I looked over at the mermaid, I didn't like the term creature it makes you think of monsters, "I'm here to help you." Tikki smiled, "I'm a kwami and I can give you legs or your tail back whenever you want. You just need to put on these earrings." she handed the mermaid a pair of black earrings.

  I looked over at the mermaid, "Ok so how do I get legs?" she asked.

  The kwami smiled, "spots on, and to get your tail back spots off."

She nodded slowly, "But my ears aren't pierced."

The kwami smiled, "it doesn't matter it's magic."

She put on the earring and mumbled the saying, "spots on." soon her tail morphed into two legs and her wet hair dried up, "Wow it worked!" she said excitedly. I walked over and helped her up she fell over almost immediately, "I might need some help." I nodded and helped her up again.

After a few minutes of practice she managed walking in her own "Ok let's get you back to my place. You can stay there." she nodded and followed me.

When we reach my house we had no problem getting to my room. I closed the door and she sat down on my chair, "I'm sorry I never introduced myself." she smiled shyly, "I'm Marinette." she blushed.

I smiled and extended my hand, "Adrien." I said. She looked at my hand questioningly. I reached for hers and shook it, "it's what you do when you meet someone." she nodded and shook mine.

I walked over to my closet and pulled out a shirt and some shorts,"What are you doing?" she asked.

I walked back over and set the clothes on my bed "You can sleep in these." I walked back over to her, "Are you hungry?" I asked.

She nodded "yeah I am, What kind of food do you have?"

"Well we have some salad, steak, and maybe some soup."

"Okay, um, what exactly are those?"

I laughed, "I'll bring up some salad and you can try that." I walked out the door and down to the kitchen to get some food for Marinette.
