~Ally's POV~
*Flashback to the night of the incident*
"Tristan?" I called out somewhat sheepishly. The sun was starting to rise, but the time was still considerably early and its rays had yet to cast its radiance onto the grounds before me, leaving the clearing in a shroud of darkness as the moon and stars had become hidden by dancing shadows leaving me but a path of darkness to walk upon. Despite my enhanced vision I could still only make out a silhouette that stood a mere few metres away, or should I say silhouettes. I brought in a shaky breath as I embraced my wolf more than before in an attempted to increase my instinctual senses, but continue to remain in my human form. I took a step forward and the frost ridden grass crunched under my weight as I paused from the sounds and scents that now consumed my senses.
"Ally?" Tristan's voice carried on the slight breeze, "Turn back now! Alert the pack..." He called out frantically, the desperation from his tone clearly apparent despite the sudden concealment of his voice as something was held against his lips. However it was the panic in his eyes as I stepped closer through the remaining trees, which caused me to stop in my tracks. I willed myself to move, but my wolf wouldn't let me as my senses became overwhelmed with the sudden proximity of others, and with my generally timid wolf sensing those of higher authority around her, caused me to instantly freeze mid-stride. The neglect from my father had been one thing to make me fear those around me and follow them willingly for in the hope of no repercussions, but now that my mate was involved was it really possible for me to just stand there as the events unfolded.

Beep!
Beep!
Beep!
The shrill sound of the alarm clock cut through the still morning air straight to that of my sensitive ears. My eyes flickered open and I turned slightly in his arms as I went to remove my hand from my mates grasp to switch off the alarm. Tristan pulled me back towards him and mumbled something in my ear before pressing a kiss to my cheek and trailing them down my neck. I sighed softly, loving his warm embrace and the safety that his arms provided, but I knew I couldn't be late, especially with my father intending on being there.
So resisting his tempting lips I pulled back and placed my hands on his chest in an attempt to stop him from pulling me back in, "You know I need to go help with the setting up of the celebration, but it's still early so you can go back to sleep and I will see you later once I've finished" I told him softly, before pulling back further and finally removing myself fully from his grasp. Tristan grumbled slightly but let me go and I felt his watchful gaze as I walked to the bathroom to get ready, making sure not to look back as I did, otherwise I knew I wouldn't be leaving this room any time soon.
Today I was enlisted, or should I say ordered by my father, to help prepare the pack house and lands around it for the celebration tomorrow, as the current Alpha passed his title down to his son. By the time I had showered and dressed the clock read just past 5am. I sighed softly before jumping slightly from the hands that snaked round my waist, however I quickly relaxed and sank back into his arms, "See you later, don't tire yourself out to much" I felt him whisper in my ear and place a final kiss just below it before stepping away to leave me now leaning against the bathroom door frame. I watched as he jumped back into our bed and I laughed softly, but nodded my head and exited our room quickly, hurrying down the corridor and jumping down the last few steps to the foyer so as not to be late.
I smoothed down my clothes and started down the hallway, however my body instantly tensed as I noticed my father stood there along with a few other members of the pack and the current alpha female as she waited for everyone to gather. My pace instantly slowed but I continued to approach him, my head hung low and my gaze dropped to the floor submissively.
I heard him snigger at my approach, knowing my display was thought weak to him, which would only cause to displease him further, but he had been displeased by me for practically my whole life and so this feeling would not be unfamiliar to him. It had got to such a stage that he even contemplated disowning me and it wasn't until he found out that I was the Beta's mate that he began to tolerate some of my actions in the hopes of more power in the pack.
I continued to stand there under his harsh gaze before the alpha female called for everyone's attention and to gather around. She relayed her instructions and then dished out the responsibilities that needed attending to today. I took the sheet handed to me and scanned the list briefly before another two sheets were placed on top. I looked up to see it was indeed my father that had given it me along with that of his close colleague. I returned my gaze to that of the multiple sheets I was now holding, but knew better than to argue with him on his reasons, "good girl" he hissed sarcastically before moving away with his friend close by, the pair chuckling humourlessly.
I turned around, my head dipped low as I made my way to the grounds surrounding the pack house, knowing I had to start working straight away if I were to get all this done now. However I was quickly interrupted as I literally bumped into that of my best friend here in the pack, Harietta. She turned and grinned at me widely as she registered who it was, her quaint features being captured in that of the sunlight streaming in through the large windows. Her generally joyous nature, instantly making me smile along with her. "Hey All's, how have you been?" she questioned enthusiastically as she walked besides me; she had always been more of a morning person than I have. I chuckled slightly at the thought, "Good thanks, you?" I replied softly as I watched her face form into a frown from her seeing the multiple pieces of paper I was carrying, "Good too" she replied flippantly as she took the paper from my hand, "I see your still taking orders from your father" she added with a raised eyebrow as she noted his name on one of the lists in my hand. I sighed as I took the paper back, "no.... well not really... I mean I guess so... It's just easier that way" I replied quietly not wanting a fuss, but saw Harietta shake her head with displeasure out the corner of my eye, "Doesn't mean its right though" she replied flatly still frowning before turning to stand in front of me and taking the top sheet from my hands again, "Let me take this one off you to help out, that way you will still have at least some of your day left by the end of it" she added, the bright smile returning to that of her naturally rounded lips. I nodded my head gratefully, "Thank you, I don't know what I would do without you" I replied, my own smile now evident, she always knew how to lighten up my day and I truly don't know how I would have lived all these years without her here to help me. "Your welcomes All's! Catch ya later!" she sung over her shoulder before moving away to crack on with her own work load, which was now somewhat heavier than before.
