Reese's POV: Recap:
The twins get in the car, Davie, Gerardo and I all watch as the car disappears to wherever their aunt's house is. We stand there, a little after the car disappears down the road before Gerardo falls to the floor and sobs, "our babies..."

Currently: Davies POV:
I help my husband the rest of the way to the floor, being wary of his broken leg. I see Reese slide down the wall and tuck her knees in and cry with us.

We stop crying about an hour later when there's nothing left in us to cry. I help my husband to his feet, before lifting him up and carrying his half-asleep body upstairs. He's exhausted from the emotional pain he was just thrown through already this morning.

When I come back down, Reese is scrubbing the pan that once had eggs in it. She stops for a second, sniffles, rubs her eyes with her wrist (she can't rub her eyes with her hand because it was wet from doing the dishes,) before continuing her scrubbing.

I pick up a drying towel and start to help her dry the dishes. She looks over at me for a brief second before washing the pan again. "So I was thinking, where Gerardo works for the mafia, maybe we could call the mafia's lawyer and see when you guys can get the twins back as soon as possible. Does that sound okay?" She asks me, not stopping what she's doing to talk to me.

"That's a grand idea, Reese, I have him on speed dial I'm pretty sure. I'll give him a call and see what I can do, are you okay to keep doing the dishes? Gerardo's phone is on the kitchen table if you need to call anyone okay?" I say to her, she nods and keeps doing the dishes, so I go into the living room and speed-dial our lawyer.

"Hey, Liam! I need a favour." I tell him, he groans, "who died and when do I have to show up to the court date? I swear to god Davie if you two keep killing everybody you want and expect me to clean up the mess, I might kill you. I haven't even met your daughters yet!" He rants to me. Liam is associated with the mafia and we pay him well, but sometimes not any amount of money is good enough for the situations he has to find a way out of.

"I'm actually calling about our daughters. I need the adoption forms ASAP. Social services showed up today and took them, we need our babies back. Can you help us, please? You can meet them after we get them back!" I counter with him.

"Okay, I'll help! How dare they take away the twins! You could have your babies back in a minimum of a week, and a max of three months but I'll know more when I look over the case file okay?" He informs me, Liam is an amazing lawyer so I think everything will be fine as-long-as Oliver and Jay keep their heads down and don't run away.

"Okay, thanks so much! Talk to you later." I hear him end the phone call and head back into the kitchen where Reese is drying her hands off with the towel. "The dishes are done Davie I think I need to head home now though. Are you okay?" She asks me, god she's so mature and grown-up she acts like a tiny grownup sometimes.

"Yeah, I'm alright, bye kid we'll call you if we have any updates alright?" I tell her, she nods and gives me a quick hug before grabbing her stuff from Oliver's room and leaving. The house is silent now, which I used to find comforting because it means that there's no trouble around because if there were, you'd hear it.

Now that no one's home, I know that I'm alone (well except for my husband but he's sleeping upstairs) so I fall down the cupboard in the kitchen. My back slides down the cupboard slowly as my legs give out. I reach the floor, and I start to cry silently. I lean my head back up against the cupboard and I cry.

But now the silence is drowning, and it feels like I'm being pulled back under the water by invisible hands that drag me down. The house hasn't been this quiet since we got the twins, they're loudness filled the entire house, but now that they're gone the house feels empty and soulless.
