The past
The father of the Gonzalez children was not a perfect man. He had his flaws being in gang was his biggest one. Yet, when he saw those two precious faces that belong to his children he would give them the world. His own father was never around most of his life his father was in prison for theft. He promised to be everything for his kids and more.
Yet, being in a gang and putting his kids in danger was one thing he never get out of. "Julian no, no puedo ni pensar que pasaría" [I can't even think what would happen]. the women worriedly said to her husband. Her husband gripped her hand. "No te preocupes vieja, nuestros hijos estarán a salvo nos tenemos que arriesgar "[Don't worry woman, our children will be safe we have to take this risk].
He walked in to his son's room to see the boy playing his video games ."Rene, tengo que hablar seria mente contigo" [I have to have a serious talk with you]. "Yeah what's up" the 13 year old boy said while pausing his game. "En la vida ay cosa que son inevitable, pasan por fe" [in life there's thing that are inevitable, they happen cause of faith].
The man leaned close to his son making sure he was was placing close attention. "Mañana algo así puede que pase y entiendo que estes enojado o triste pero tiene que entender que este barrio es tu familia, the santos son tu familia" [tomorrow something like that could happen and I understand you might be angry or upset but you have to understand that this neighborhood is your family, the santos are your family] the father said to a still confused boy.
"No entiendo.." [I don't understand..] he was cut of by his father before he could finish. "No todo tiene respuestas pero cuando pase vas a saber porque tu eres inteligente y más importante eres valiente" [not everything has answers but when something happens you will know because your intelligent and most important you are brave].
....
"Necesito que lo hagas es la única salida, mientras me quede callado" [I need you to do this it's the only other way out as long as I keep quiet] the man said to his wife. She let a few tears fall for her eyes. "Y qué tal si se olvidan de ti" [What if they forget about you] she sobbed. "Tu no lo permitirás" he smiled embracing his wife and kissing her.
....
"911 whats your emergency" the line was quiet for a while before they spoke. " I like to give out some information" the strong accent present as they spoke. Tears free falling from the speaker but was able to restraint from screaming. "Ok please hold as I transfer you to the next line".
...
The couple and there children were having breakfast. The small six year old was removing the candy from the Concha as it was the only part of the bread she liked. The parents heard sirens near by and looking at each other reassuring that it would be fine. "Rene Papi tiene que hablar contigo" [Dad had to talk to you] the boy nodded placing his bread back on the plate. As they talked The sirens could be heard closer. "Como vas a dejar que esa gente cuide a mis hijos" [how are you allowing these people to care for my children] the mother yelled. "No son todos como ellos amor tienes que entender que mientras you esté en el bote los protegerán" [they are not all like them you got to understand that while I'm in prison they will protect you guys] the man tired to reason with his wife.
Yet, they kept arguing both stressed with the situation they were in. Two officers burst through the home to see the men they were looking for. "Mami" the little girl screamed scared of the two strange men. "Esta bien amor" [Its ok my love] the mother tried to get ahold of her daughter. "Stay were you at ma'am don't move". The officers yelled causing the young girl to cry.
"My daughter is crying can I not attend to her" the wife screamed tears rolling down her cheeks. "That bullshit man" screamed the fathers as he moved to attend his daughter. As he rose from his seat the fork on his lap fell to the floor causing a loud clink sound. This alerted the cops and five gun shoots were heard in the house.
The children screamed as they heard the gun shots. The wife sobbed loudly as her once partner in life laid lifeless in the ground. Two santos entered the home to see what was going on. "Stand back" both of the officers said pointing their guns at them. " hey man we are just here for the children they shouldn't be seeing this be a little considerate" one of the santos said as he pointed at the boy and girl hugging each other in tears.
"We said stay back" one of the officers repeated. The women not able to contain anymore and ran to her husband. The officers being in high alert with all the adults in the room shot the innocent women. "We are going to need back up" one of the officers said.

Omg it's been so long since I written for this story but I've been wanting to explain the death of the Gonzales parents for the longest. I always had this in mind since I started the story to show how awful the world could be. Especially our justice system. Yet, with everything going on in the world it feels awful that something I wrote in a fictional story is far from fiction. :(. On a brighter note I will be writing for story much more again.
