Zeus paced within his chambers annoyed and angry with the situation he had found himself in but also anxious to see what would happen, he knew that the others were up set with him for falling back into his old habits and declaring war against Poseidon. at the time it had seemed perfectly reasonable to him that his brother had used his secret child to steal his weapon in a bid to take the throne for himself, in his calmer moments though he realised that there were giant sized holes in his theories and he silently wished he had been able to consult aspen before making such an oath.

he was angry and annoyed with himself more than anyone else even if he wouldn't admit it, he had been getting better and it was easier for him to think passed the haze of irrational paranoia most days but with his master bolt gone he was at his most helpless, a state he hadn't been in since before they defeated Chronos. a knock sounded from his door before an envelope was slid under, he didn't blame Hermes for the messengers caution though as it had been rather easy for Zeus to slip into an irrational anger since his bolt went missing and that probably  wouldn't change until the bolt was returned.

picking up the envelope Zeus nearly sighed in relief as he felt the calming presence of aspen in the letter, coating messages in your power was one of the easiest ways the gods had found to make sure that Hermes hadn't gotten bored and decided to prank them.

dear uncle Z

I have heard of what happened and  I do not blame you for the anger and paranoia you are no doubt feeling, though I sincerely doubt uncle P would do this to you.

I do however believe that someone is trying to trick you, who ever this is they are seeking to create a civil war between the gods and have chosen you as their first target knowing that the theft of your master bolt is something that can not be covered up or hidden. it is likely that who ever set this up wishes for the gods to destroy themselves so that there is no competition for when they take over and I believe that they are planning to use the demi-gods as a way to further their plans.

the moment I learned about what is going on I traveled to camp half blood, it would be the easiest place to find most of the demi-gods and to search them just in case.

during my stay here I have felt a malevolent darkness crawling thru the camp, I do not know where this energy comes from as I have never come across it before but I can tell that a number of  campers are being influenced by it wither they are aware of it or not.

I have met uncle P's son but as far as I can tell the boy was clueless of our world until a few days ago, fear not uncle I will not allow this war to happen.

I will return your master bolt to you no matter what it takes.

love aspen

Zeus reread the letter a few times before setting it down and laying back on his bed, for the first time in months he felt like he could finally relax. he knew aspen was a neutral among them and held a love for all of them as family, if there was one person he could truly trust to bring him back his bolt it was aspen.

shortly after aspen finished his letter to Zeus and had sent it off with Hermes he went looking for Percy Jackson, no doubt the boy was as impatient as his father and would rush off as soon as possible to try and rescue his mother. while it was admirable that he was willing to put everything on the line just to see her safe and sound, now was not the time for half informed quests while the master bolt was missing and a war of the gods on the horizon.
