Zelena caught back up with Nate and went back to the Jacobs Family booth, where Cal won the chili cook-off for the sixth year in a row. Zelena stepped back to let them take their family picture, but Cal insisted she was in it with them, so she placed herself between Aaron and Nate and smiled for the camera. As the crowd stood around, Zelena noticed one person clapping particularly hard with a stone-cold look in her eyes.

Maddy Perez.

Nate noticed Maddy, too, and he rolled his eyes. Zelena could see the irritation in his eyes, and she sighed. "Just don't let her get to you, Nate..." Zelena whispered.

"Too late," Nate whispered back.

"Yeah, I'm not supposed to be here right now because I'm dressed like a hooker, and none of you like me, but I just wanted to say congratulations," Maddy said, approaching the booth. Zelena looked over her outfit and didn't think she looked like a hooker. She liked her purple two-piece outfit. Would she wear it to a carnival where families are at? No, but maybe if she went out to a club or something.

"Maddy, don't cause a scene," Zelena whispered.

"Yeah, Maddy, get out of...-" But Maddy cut Nate off by pushing over the big pot of chili that Cal had made. Nate grabbed Zelena and moved her to his other side so that she didn't get splashed by any chili that hit the ground.

"Oops..." Maddy said.

"What in God's name is your problem?" Marsha Jacobs asked her son's girlfriend.

"You, cunt." Maddy snapped back. Zelena watched as Nate left the booth, and he grabbed Maddy's arm, pulling her away. She looked at Mr. and Mrs. Jacobs and sighed.

"I'm really sorry, guys... and again, congratulations on winning, Mr. Jacobs," Zelena said before excusing herself from the family. She grabbed her phone and called Benjamin, it was only about 9:30, but she was ready to go home. She didn't want to stick around to hear about the trainwreck that Maddy had just caused for the Jacobs family.

"Hey, Zee... everything okay?" Benjamin asked when he answered his sister's call.

"Yeah... I think I'm about to head out. I'll explain what happened when I get home, but I just don't want to be here anymore." She said.

"Okay, is Nate bringing you back? Or do you want me to pick you up?" Benjamin asked.

"Nate is a bit preoccupied, don't worry, I'll just walk home," Zelena said.

"Zee... just let me pick you up," Benjamin said. As Zelena continued walking to a more secluded part of the carnival to hear her brother and to leave, she hadn't heard Nate and Maddy yet.

"No, it's okay, just stay on the phone with me. I like walking." She said.

"Okay... fine," Benjamin said.
