After a few days spent in the squad 4s medical center Y/N finally wakes. He feels a pressure on his left arm and turns his head and sees Yoruichi sleeping soundly. He smiles at seeing his former Captains cute sleeping face. He can't help but move a stray strand of hair behind her ear. This cause Yoruichi to stir and she slowly opened her beautiful golden eyes and sees Y/N awake and smiles. "You're finally awake. You had me worried!" Yells Yoruichi slapping Y/N softly. "I know and I'm sorry I made you feel that way. I just couldn't let anything happen to you," says Y/N. Yoruichi hugs Y/N for a few minutes. He's hugging her back while rubbing her back in circles. The hug ends shortly after a while and Yoruichi smiles at him. "I have some great news for you," says Yoruichi. Y/N looks at Yoruichi confused and he goes to respond but was interrupted by Yoruichi. "You're going to be taking the Captains Exam!" Announced Yoruichi. His eyes widened at Yoruichi's announcement. "I..dont know what to say it's an honor to be taking the Exam. When is it?" Asked Y/N. Yoruichi smiles at him again before responding. "As soon as you're feeling up to it," says Yoruichi looking a little concerned while looking down. Y/N looks at Yoruichi and puts his hand on her chin and made her look at him.
"What happened wasn't your fault. I chose to protect you and I don't regret it," says Y/N while looking at Yoruichi's golden eyes. Yoruichi was currently looking at Y/Ns brown eyes and knew deep down that he is the one that she wants to be with and one of the Soul Reapers who will change the Soul Society for the better. "Thank you Y/N. I was happy that you were my subordinate and I know you'll make a great Captain," says Yoruichi. After some conversation between the two Soul Reapers until Captain Unohana comes to check the patient. Once seeing him fully healed is when she releases him from the medical center with Yoruichi next to him. "Are you going to Squad 1s Barracks to take the exam?" Asked Yoruichi. Y/N nodd at her question. "Good luck Y/N! I know you can do it. I'll be with Soi Fon so come to Squad 2s barracks afterwords," Yoruichi says happily. After Y/N started to make his way to Squad 1s barracks is when Yoruichi puts a hand on her heart. 'Calm down heart. He's healed and not on the medical bed anymore. I hope he has the opportunity to choose his Lieutenant. I wouldn't mind if he asked me,' Yoruichi says to herself before heading to spend time with Soi Fon.
Y/N makes it to Squad 1s barracks and Head Captain Yamamoto sees the Lieutenant of Squad 7 in front of him. "Ah so you are ready for the Captains Exam. First how are you feeling?" Asked Yamamoto. "A little sluggish but I can handle it Head Captain," answers Y/N. The Head Captain nods and motions to follow him. "Now you may know the different ways of becoming a Captain. One way is to perform a Bankai. The second way is to have a recommendation from six Captains and have three of the seven Captains remaining or fight a Captain with at least two-hundred spectators. The third option has been blocked out since you will be performing your Bankai in front of three other Captains for the new Captain position for Squad 14," explains Captain Yamamoto. The Head Captain then tells Y/N to stand in the circle while he stands near the three Captains who are watching Y/N. The head captain orders Y/N to perform his Bankai. "Bring Death Upon My Enemies Kibishī!" Shouted Y/N summoning his Shikai form. Which turns the sword Midnight blue with black smoke around it. "Bankai Kibishī owari ni chikai!" Shouts Y/N while his spiritual pressure begins to rise. The captains around the exam were wide eyed. The Captains and including the Head Captain have proud smiles on their faces and now have a new Captain for Squad 14.
After Y/N received his Haori instead of having a promotion party he goes to where Yoruichi currently is. He arrives to where he is overhearing the two Soul Reapers talking. "So you really care about him?" Asked what sounded like Soi Fon. "Of course I do and I know he does to," says Yoruichi. The conversation continues for a little bit before Y/N decides to knock. The door opens to reveal Yoruichi who smiles and let's him inside. "So..how did it go?" Asked Yoruichi. Y/N smiles and pulls out his Haori. "I'm a Captain," says Y/N. Yoruichi hugs him tight and kept saying how much she believed in him to become Captain. "Well now that your Captain you will need a Lieutenant," adds Yoruichi. Y/N nods when she says that and puts on a thinking face before he has an idea. "I may have someone in mind. I just wonder of she'll say yes," Y/N says while looking at Yoruichi. She then realizes that he is referring to her.
"You want me to be your Lieutenant? Even though I went and disappeared on you until now?" Asked Yoruichi.
Y/N smiles at walks up to her before giving her a hug. "Of course I want you to be my Lieutenant. It'll be less work for you. That is if you want to be my Lieutenant," says Y/N. Yoruichi looks at Y/N and nods her head before Y/N hands her the badge of Squad 14. "Welcome aboard Squad 14 Lieutenant Shihoin," Said Y/N.
