"ACHOO!"

the young blond shivered under his covers with a sniffle as paya put a warm cloth on his head, "oh, master link... why didn't you listen?"

link just turned away, "i just wanted to feel what snow was like and i.... wanted to have fun with all the children who seem normal...." he coughed and looked at her with observant blue eyes that held truth in them.

paya sighed, "link... the reason we don't let you out is because of how fragile you can be...."

the boy jolted up in anger, "do you not think i know of my position! i may possess power that my body cannot stand and i know the consequences of it. but that does not mean that i can't take care of myself!"

he coughed and laid back down with a stubborn face. the door opened, revealing his mother who looked at her sick child. "what happened?"

"h-he snuck out of the palace and played in the snow...."

the queen sighed. the toll of sleepiness now on her face, "link.... why? your father and i have been telling you to not go outside or you'll get sick!"

"i know! i just don't want to be deemed as weak! i want to be strong!"

"but you can't! those powers are very strong! your body can't take it, link! you're only 8 and you are weak! you will not survive if you continue on like this!"

"I AM NOT WEAK! I WILL SURVIVE! I CAN TAKE IT!" he cried out in frustration at his mother. she looked at him with surprise before glaring, "you will not talk to me in that tone of voice! i forbid you from going outside! and i shall double your education to the point where you'll be up in that tower studying all day!"

"you can't do that! i don't want to study all day, every day!"

"my queen! please reconsider! link's a hard working boy and very intelligent! don't you think that punishment is too harsh?!"

"if it's to keep him from going outside, then i will not reconsider. your studies to become a better prince, heir to the throne and god of time starts in four days."

she marched off. paya looked at the young boy. his eyes unfocused before he tensed and passed out.
