link coughed into his arm as he glared at the outside. why was he glaring? he didn't know. he needed something to glare at though. paya paced around the room.

"this... the queen has never gone this far! oh no.... i think you broke her, master link!"

"i.... i really didn't mean to 'break' her.... i want to go outside! i don't want to be in the castle, studying my whole life just to sit on a throne and send someone else to do the problems for me! forgive me for acting like a brat but i am not standing for this."

"this time. you need to listen, link! your mother is just worried about you! she doesn't want you to die an early age because of this power that is making you sick! who knows? something might spark it to awaken and the first one it'll kill is you because you're hosting it!"

something shone in link's eyes. something paya was afraid of. the one emotion all their royal family bloodlines had.

"it won't kill me without a fight! i won't give up! i'll get better and i will go outside!"

she sighed, clearly seeing that he won't give up, "oh link... you truly are an epitome of courage... i just hope you hold on a while longer. you're very precious to this castle and it's inhabitants."

"don't worry paya! as long as you keep me going outside a secret, i will hold on! for you! my mommy! and the whole kingdom!"

paya looked at him,"but, what about yourself?" link shook his head and coughed violently, "i can't be selfish now when i might drop dead anyday."

"go to sleep, link. take rest as much as you can. the rest of your short years are going to be hard...."
