Frozen

Bloodlust. Your blood boiling and your fists turning white. Nails digging into your palms and your chest feeling like it's about to explode. This is what I'm feeling right now. Right now, as I hold Ivy's hand and tell her nothing they say matters.

¨Ivy, do you wanna maybe, come stay at my place tonight?¨

She wipes her eyes and lifts her head off of her knees.

¨I-I don't know. I wouldn't be much of a fun guest in this state. I don't wanna be some kind of burden.¨

She gives me a smile. A smile that breaks my heart.

¨Well, I don't care. You're coming over. You don't get a choice.¨

She ponders over it for a moment and then begins to perk up.

¨Ya know, maybe it'll cheer me up a bit. I don't really have any friends here besides you anyways.¨

I couldn't help but smile. She just gave off this aura of happiness, even when she was crying on the floor of a highschool hallway. I take a deep breath and stand up, offering my hand to her. She takes it and pulls herself up. I grab her stuff for her and hand it to her. I turn to face her, to find her lips against my cheek. Then, everything froze. She turned and down the hallway she went. Instead of going up the staircase, I stand there, frozen.  What's this feeling? My chest is caving in, I can't seem to find my breath, and my face is warm.

Then the bell rang.

¨Shit. Mrs. Holgart is gonna kill me!¨
