Ch. 16

"Nicki, we got a problem." My heart started racing when I started hearing her thoughts.

This is one of those instances where I wished I couldn't hear people's thoughts.

"Please stop thinking shit and just say it." I beg lowly.

"I'm sorry." She gives me a sympathetic look. Robyn stands in the middle of Nicki and I, holding both of our hands. "Nicki, your child is growing three times faster than a normal fetus would. At this rate, you have maybe a month left of this pregnancy before you go into labor."

A month?!

"Oh my god..." Nicki's eyes water as she covers her mouth.

"How is her body even going to be able to handle that?! Will the baby be a normal sized baby already? I mean, that's a three month pregnancy!" I say, completely shocked by what's going on.

"I'm not sure. Her body will probably go through a lot trying to accommodate the fetus. As far as the baby, with the way it's been growing so quickly, I'd say yes. The baby will be what a normal full term baby's size is."

"Nicki, have you been eating? Your face is a little sunken in, your skin is a little lighter than it should be, and your breathing is shallower than normal." Nicki shakes her head.

"I've tried to eat, but I haven't been able to keep much down."

"Why has she been so sick if she's passed the normal mark for morning sickness? She can barely keep water down lately." Robyn asks one of the questions we'd been wondering for weeks.

"Well, um..." the fetus probably needs blood. I hear her think as she tries to think of a way to say it.

"Nicki needs to drink blood to feed the baby..." I say quietly, seeing the doc nod her head and hear Nicki gasp.

"Will the baby continue to want only blood after their born?! Fuck, will they keep growing like this after they're born? Oh my God, will they be a vampire already? Will they already have the instinct to kill?" Nicki rambles on, scared out of her mind.

I'm not gon lie, I'm fuckin scared too.

"I honestly don't know yet, Nicki. I wish I did, but I don't. There aren't many instances where a vampire has impregnated a human. We will figure this out and do what we can to ensure your safety and the safety of your child though. Don't jump to any conclusion." The doctor says as she tries to console a terrified Nicki.

"What are the possibilities she'll survive through this? Her body is already being pushed farther than it should go." I ask.

"The way the baby has already grown, I don't know. Nicki may not be able to handle the labor, her body could give out, the baby could be too much for her, there's a lot of possibilities. But as I said, I will do everything in my power to make sure they survive this."

We all stand their shocked, taking in the information just given to us.

"Nicki, I'm going to go get you something to see if it'll help." Nicki just nods as she covers her face at the doc.

"Baby, I am so sorry." I walk over and pull her up to me. She wraps her arms around my waist and shakes her head as she cries.

"It's not your fault." She says quietly.

"We can try to see if the doctor can abort the pregnancy." I hear Nicki gasp as she pulls away from me with an angered look on her face.

"Bey, wha da fuck?" Rihanna says with an angry expression too.
