Pick knew he should say something but he wasn't a man of words. At least, not a man of sweet words. Rome was lying down beside him on his bed. He could stare all day at the little guy who was falling asleep slowly. The milky skin of his chest was exposed and Pick could see the marks made by him. He knew that he could be quite territorial when it came to anything really and Rome was his mate.

Being an alpha, he had known that Rome was the one when he had first seen the junior. But he couldn't understand how since he was hundred percent straight. So he acted more rude than he ever was. Somehow, the little guy took it as a challenge and kept trying to crack Pick's hard exterior. The omega had succeeded on day one. But Pick wasn't a man of actions too. So when he tried to show affection he would somehow say harsh stuff instead.

Like when he took Rome for shopping, he accidentally told Rome that he looked slutty in shorts. He just didn't want others to see those legs alright! But he didn't know how to tell Rome that. So Rome ended up not buying anything. Later that night Pick realized that Rome didn't even know
that it was supposed to be a date. Yes, Pick had just ordered the junior to come instead of asking him out.

There was no end to the list of Pick's flaws. And he wasn't even sure why the universe was so sadistic that he was pushed into Rome's life. Rome was an angel. He was always smiling and always sweet. Pick had never seen the boy angry or sad. Sometimes Pick thought he didn't deserve the boy. Rome deserved someone as loving as him. For Pick, the only way he could show his love was to buy Rome his meal. That's it. He couldn't even hold his hand. He felt a strange feeling whenever his hand touched Rome's. He didn't understand what that feeling was until last night.

He was out at the club with Porsche when a sweet smell invaded his senses. He knew that smell. But it was stronger. Usually, the clubs are filled with a specific gas that hides the smell of omegas so that the dominating alphas won't be able to take advantage of them. But even the gas couldn't hide the smell of omegas on heat.

It rarely happened that omegas wouldn't know when their heat was coming and so Rome was there with Emma trying to get out of that place as fast as possible. Pick had rushed to find Rome the minute he could smell him. Porsche was behind him. Pick has cursed when he had seen Rome surrounded by alphas as the bartender shouted for security. Then a burly man had touched Rome and Rome moaned. That's when Pick had growled.

A huge fight followed. Pick would've loved to kill the man who had touched his omega. But Rome was crying in pain and there were just too many alphas affected by Rome's smell. Even Porsche was affected so much that he was literally smelling Emma to calm himself down. So Pick ran towards Rome and sunk his teeth on his neck. He had marked Rome in front of everybody in a freaking club. He regretted it the moment he had done it.

It was a sacred thing- to mark someone. It was like you were claiming what's yours. Only soulmates could mark each other and with consent. And there Pick was marking Rome in the middle of a club. As soon as he had done that Rome's smell had changed. It stopped affecting others. But now, Pick couldn't control himself. He needed Rome now. He had just enough control to drag Rome back to his home. What happened next was magical. Rome had accepted him. Pick had marked him again and this time with consent. It felt like he was in heaven. Rome's moans were like music composed just for him. He had devoured Rome.

And now, here he was, at three in the morning, staring at the angel beside him. That's when he got a call.

Eyebrows furrowed, he had gently freed Rome from his embrace leaving a soft kiss on the omega's lips. Moving towards the kitchen, he found himself frowing at the caller. She was one of his many mistakes.

When he was denying his feelings for Rome, he had accepted his family's demand. That demand was to date a girl who was his father's friend's daughter. As sweet as she was, she wasn't Rome and Pick had told her so after two weeks of them going out. Pick was brave enough to tell his whole family that his mate is a guy when the said guy didn't even have clue about how much he affected Pick.

Bright, his twin brother, was the only one proud of what Pick did. Bright was black sheep of the family. He was one who obeyed no rules and choose to live the way he wanted. So when it was Pick who turned gay, it wrecked havoc. His aunts who loved him suddenly found Bright better. Bright hated all that and he made that clear. For the first time in his life, even Pick understood why Bright hated everyone in the house. They all lived a half ass pretentious life.
Pick could suddenly see clearly how much of an act they all were putting up. Even he had played the role of a perfect son. But Rome was his sunshine and he decided to treat this one person right.

Pick had planned to ask Rome out for a date. And then he would slowly make Rome realize that they were mates. Omegas usually needed their alphas to make them realize that they are actually meant for each other. But whenever Pick had tried, he had failed. He never knew how much of a coward he was until he realized that Rome could reject him. He couldn't live with that rejection.

Now, finally he had Rome but Rin was calling him. Irritated, he answered her call. She asked him to meet her. But why would he when his Rome was on his bed in his room? But she said that she needed closure. She needed to see him one last time and then she'd leave him alone.

Pick debated his options. Rin was going mad after he had broken up with her. She had even stalked him. So if he could give her closure, it would be better. He could have a nice start with Rome after tying all the loose ends. Sighing he left a note on the fridge for Rome.

When he met Rin, he was still happy. Having Rome made him so happy that even Rin couldn't spoil his mood. He told her to be fast. She just apologized. He forgave her. This was the closure she needed and he gave her that. But when he was about to leave, she hugged him. As uncomfortable as he was, he gave let her do that. Closure. That's what he thought but suddenly her lips were on his. He froze for a while. As he pushed her off him, he felt a deep pain in his heart. His heart hurt so much that it was physically unbearable. He screamed. Then he saw Rome's face. His angel was sleeping peacefully back at his room, on his bed. But Pick knew that Rome knew.
