Bailey's Powers

     Bailey has had a wonderful life. Her parents love her, her sister loves her. But, her father disappeared when she was young. Same with Nora. Only, Nora could remember what Barry looked like. Bailey, however. Did not.
The only thing she saw of him as she grew up was pictures of him and what Iris told her and her sister about him. That was all she had to go off of about her father.
  -20 years later. Bailey is 20-
     Bailey was a journalist at CCPN, just like her mom. Nora and Bailey were close, until Nora vanished one day. Iris wouldn't say anything about it.
     While Bailey was at Jitters trying to find inspiration for a story, Jitters was attacked by a female speedster. The speedster looked like a wannabe Zoom.
Bailey shot up. "Everyone out!" She yells. Everyone runs out, not having to be told twice. Some people calling 911. Bailey pulls the gun her Papa Joe Gave her to protect herself out and points it at the speedster. The speedster then chuckles.
Bailey fired several shots at the speedster, the speedster dodged, however, and shot a bolt of lightning at her. Bailey wasn't able to move in time and was hit by the bolt, knocking her unconscious.
After several long hours, Bailey woke up. She saw her mom, Papa Joe, Mama Cecile, Uncle Wally, And Aunt Jenna. She tries to sit up, but Joe stops her.
"I wouldn't do that if I were you" He says. Bailey nods and lays back down.
"What...what happened?" She asks. Everyone looks at each other. But her mom soon speaks up.
"You were struck by lightning. From a speedster" her mom says. Her eyes widen.
"Was anyone else hurt?" She asks. She was always a person to care for others. She put others needs before hers. They all shake their heads to say no. She sighs in relief.
     The doctor walks in holding a little tube that had a piece of metal in it. Everyone except Bailey's eyes widened. Bailey just looked confused.
     "What's that?" She asks.
     "It seems to be a power dampening chip" the doctor answers. Bailey looks to her mom.
     "Mom?" She asks her mom, hoping for an answer.
     "I didn't want you to be a speedster. Being a speedster is dangerous" Iris says. That just angers Bailey.
     "Is that why Nora ran away? Because she was a speedster?" Bailey asks, hurt, betrayed, and angered. When Iris didn't answer she looks away. When Bailey was released from the hospital they all went to Iris' apartment. The same apartment her and Barry shared.
     "Bailey, I'm so sorry. I just didn't want you to get hurt or worse, killed." Iris says. Bailey smiles softly.
     "I understand that. But when I was old enough to protect myself you could have told me" Bailey says. Iris smiles knowing Bailey wasn't mad at her like Nora was. "Mom, I was thinking about going to visit Nora. Do...do you know where she would be?" Bailey asks. Iris nods.
    "She probably went to 2019 to see her father" she says. Bailey nods and hugs her.
     "I'll be back. I promise" Bailey says.
