Peter Parker Imagine "Truth or Dare" Part 2

"Huh?" You question. "I'm sorry I wasn't paying attention." Liz laughs while shaking her head. "Jeez (Y/n), I know you're not into parties but at least pretend to be enjoying yourself. I said truth or dare," she chuckled. You can't even think about something like that right now. You're a little busy trying to figure out if your best friend is interested in. Everyone's eyes drift over to you including Peter's. "I guess I pick dare?" You're not really trying to do anything crazy but at the same time you're not trying to reveal any of your deepest darkest secretes. But the grin that spreads across Liz's face has you second guessing your choice. "Okay (Y/n). I dare you to kiss the cutest boy in the room." Your eyes open wide out complete shock.
Peter goes rigid beside the girl he likes but quickly tries to relax hoping that no one noticed. He doesn't want you kissing anyone else. He's supposed to be the one kissing you. He had it all planned. At the end of the night he was gonna pull you aside and confess his feelings for you. And now? Now it's all ruined because of some stupid dare. He can't believe he's gonna loose you over something so trivial, but mostly he's mad at himself for not doing something about the two of you sooner.
"Kiss someone here? Liz you've got to be kidding me right?" You ask dumbfounded. "Nope. Unless you wanna be taking off a piece of clothing I suggest you do it too," she smiles wickedly. You know she's trying to help you finally make a move on Peter but you really didn't see the night ending up like this.
Peter can't stand it any longer. He knows if he speaks up it would look suspicious so instead he decides Ned will. He elbows Ned in the side and pleads to him with his eyes. Ned knows how Peter feels about (Y/n) and immediately gets the hint. "She doesn't have to kiss anyone if she doesn't want to," Ned says in your defense but mostly for Peter's sanity. "Yes she does Ned, that's the whole point of a dare. She has to do it." Liz rolls her eyes. She can't believe Ned is about to mess up her plan to finally get (Y/n) and Peter together. Ned stutters quickly trying to come up with something while Peter stares at him with a mix of fear and sadness. "But if it's gonna make her uncomfortable she shouldn't have to do it." Ned pleads for Peter's sake. Flash laughs, "you just don't wanna watch me and (Y/n) make out. Feel free to leave the room." And that enrages Peter.
You laugh a bit at the fact that Flash genuinely thinks he's the cutest in the room while Peter sits right there. There's not even a comparison between the two. Liz and Ned start going back and forth bickering about if you have to complete the dare or not with Flash butting in every once in a while. Peter decides it's finally time to say something. He can't let Ned take the fall for all of it. He turns to you and whispers over the noise, "you don't have to kiss anyone if you don't want, (Y/n). We can leave, I'll take you home right now if you want me too." You smile. You'd like to say you can't believe that even in a moment like this that Peter Parker would be so calm and nice but you know him, and that's exactly how he would act. And you love that about him. "It's okay Peter. I want to do the dare." Peters eyes widen in shock. This is it. This is really where he looses her. And all over some silly game. "Guys! It's okay I'll do the dare. Thanks for looking out for me though Ned. I appreciate it," You tell the group. Ned looks defeated while Liz basks in the knowledge that her plan succeeded, and Flash, well Flash gets ready for the kiss he thinks is about to take place. You crinkle her nose in disgust at just imaging kissing Flash. As if. You turns towards Peter and are a bit surprised to see him look so defeated but after your suspicions you decide to take it as a sign to finally make a move.
"Go on (Y/n), what are you waiting for?" Liz asks. Peter looks up to find (Y/n) staring at him and for a moment hope is the only feeling he can muster. But he pushes it down. "There's no way she likes me," he tells himself. But the look in your eyes speaks differently and he's truly confused as to what's coming next. "Peter?" She questions. "This is it. Is this really happening?" Peter thinks. "Y-yes?" He stutters out. "Peter," deep breathe in, "Peter? Can I kiss you?" (Y/n) stutters out as fast as she can. And he's absolutely blown away. No way this is happening. It's like a dream. A fairy tale. This stuff doesn't happen to him. Yea, yea, he knows he's got the whole super power thing but getting the girl? That's just not something that happens to a guy like Peter. He realizes he's been taking to long to answer and immediately stutters out a yes. The smile that breaks over your face is enough to knock the wind out of his chest. And if it wasn't for the knowledge that he was about to receive a kiss from the girl he thinks he's in love with, he could've died a happy man right then and there. As you lean in Peter swears this is the happiest he's ever felt. Just being here with you in this moment. And everything else disappears. The constant worry of being spider-man, all the noise and people in the room, the song constantly playing in the back of his mind. Right now, it's just the two of you. And nothing else matters.
You're nervous as hell. You can feel your hands shaking and your brain is going a thousand miles a minute. But you're unbelievably happy. You were pissed at Liz for making this happen and now you're so grateful. You and Peter both lean in and when your lips finally meet it's like lightning. Your hands stop shaking and you place them on Pete's face. You feel his on your hips and in your hair. And you know this is what people mean when they talk about heaven on earth.
You both pull back and the noise of the room finally returns to Peter's ears and he can hear the room cheering and whistling. He looks up and can see everyone smiling and giggling. He looks at Ned while Ned wipes a playful tear from his eye. Liz is smirking and he realizes that she had a helpful hand in this and that maybe (Y/n) has liked him for a bit more time than just right now for Liz to have had enough time to plan all this. And looking at Flash's face brings Peter a bit of smug satisfaction. Flash is sitting there with his mouth wide open completely shocked that (Y/n) picked Peter over him. But looking over at you and seeing how content you looks makes Peter excited for the future. Maybe, just maybe, things are about to change for him. And maybe you'll be there for all of it too.
