monday. it was officially the monday before jade left la. in four days jade would go from seeing the love of her life every single day to almost never seeing him.
she was unsure if they would even be together by the time she was ready to go back to la. sure she was more than sure about her love for him, but she was doing at least two years at college in texas. that's a long time to be in a long distance relationship.
she wanted to spend every second of every minute of everyday with the boys. they kept her sane. she had planned the rest of the week out. she was going to spend today fixing her life up at her home in la, meaning talking to alexis, packing, and spending time with kayley.
the boys were having a 'small get together' as they call it, but she knew it would be more like a going away party, with all of her friends in la on tuesday.
wednesday was for nick. completely. she just wanted to be in his presence.
jade sighed, preparing herself to walk into the room across the hall from hers. she knocked lightly before twisting the silver doorknob and pushing the door open. she saw who once was her best friend in this entire world sleeping peacefully. her curly hair was like a crown surrounding her and she had this glow to her that had been missing for a while now.
for the first time in months, she recognized her friend. she wasn't yelling at anyone, or frowning.
jade tapped the girl and she easily woke up, all of the peacefulness leaving her body as it was overtook with anger.
"hey, um. i don't really know how to put this- and i never thought i'd have trouble expressing myself with you, but i am. i thank you for giving me a place to stay, and keeping kayley in my life. i'm sorry our friendship isn't what it used to be- i love you regardless. i'm going back home on thursday so i can stay out of your hair." jade said standing awkwardly by the bed.
alexis felt terrible. she pushed away the one person who cared about her. all she had left was kayley. "you don't have to go, jade."
jade nodded. "i know, lex. i want to. i think that's what's best for everyone." jade watched as alexis stood up, reaching out for a hug.
she walked into it, holding on tightly. the both of them needed that hug more than the other knew. as sad as jade wanted to be for leaving, she was ecstatic to get out of the living situation she was in. alexis pulled away from the hug, looking jade straight in the eyes.
"you know i love you, right?"
jade nodded, smiling at her friend. "absolutely." she spoke.
she left the room, finally knowing that her friend doesn't hate her.
the rest of the day consisted of her talking to kayley as she helped her pack.

it was now tuesday, and jade was saying goodbye to all of her friends in la. she was so happy to see that so many people showed up to support her decision.
she was giving a tight hug to the last person at the party, neviah, and she almost wanted to cry. "who am i supposed to beat in basketball now?" he said sadly and jade snorted. "please, neviah. you won ONE game." she laughs and he shakes his head. "whatever, jade."
she was cleaning the cups from the backyard when nick came behind her, slithering his arm around her waist and making her heart flutter. his head rested on her shoulder and his heart on his sleeve.
"hey, baby." he whispered. the smile on the sweet boy's face was priceless. she couldn't see it, but she had no trouble picturing it as the boys joyful expression never left her mind. nick wanted to be with jade as much as possible. he never wanted her to leave.
