Lisa's POV

"Morning," I greeted, cheerily entering the kitchen spotting Poppy and Jake already in the kitchen.

"Morning," Poppy replied, groggily, taking a bite out of her toast.

"Good morning, honey," Jake said sweetly, kissing me quickly as I passed the stove where he was standing.

"You both have too much energy for a Monday morning," Poppy groaned, resting her head in her hands. She still had her PJ's on and her hair was spun in a bun at the top of her head from last night, I loved that she was comfortable with us to look like this a few days ago she wouldn't have appeared without her hair done. Jake's arms wrapping around my shoulders snapped me out of my daydream.

"I'll go and get Louis up," he said, leaving me and Poppy alone together in the kitchen. I nodded and wandered my way over to the cereal.

"So, what lessons do you have today?" I asked Poppy, pouring some milk into my bowl.

"Double science," she said with a drawn-out groan, I smiled quietly, "English, maths and French,"

"I loved French," I recollected, remembering my school days fondly. Even though my A level in French was completely useless as a thirty-year-old actress.

"Urgh, no," Poppy scoffed, disapprovingly.

"I'm going to go and get ready," she said, just as Jake entered carrying a sleepy Louis in his arms. "What time are we leaving?"

"Eight," Jake confirmed, ruffling her hair as he set Louis down. Poppy left to have a shower as we finished off breakfast. Louis was as just as enthusiastic as his sister in the mornings, he lazily ate his breakfast and ended up getting half of it down him.

Me and Jake decided we would drop Poppy to school for the first couple of weeks to get her comfortable with the route but then she could manage to go by herself. A part of me knew she was fine with it because she had done it so much before and was super independent but I also love the fact that she did need us.

"Ready?" Jake asked for the fifth time this morning, carrying Louis's bags and his own backpack full of notes for his morning meeting.

"We've been ready for fifteen minutes, it's you who's panicking," I pointed out, pushing past my bewildered husband to the car. I popped out the door and strapped a grumbly Louis in. We dropped Louis off first, who seemed pretty content when he found his group of friends, we had just enough time to get the numbers of a few of his friends parents before shooting off again to drop Poppy off.

Poppy's POV

"Have a good day at school," Jake said, as I popped open the car door.

"I will," I replied, smiling before shutting the door. I'd never been dropped off to school before and I have to admit it was a luxury as I'd always trekked it in the brutish weather or the tube, which was packed and horrid. I approached the school gates and spotted my two best friends as I moved closer to them, their squeals heightened as I came closer to them and we linked arms as soon as we could.

"We have missed you so much," Louise groaned, dramatically.

"No, you've missed the answers more like," Penny shot back, glaring across at Louise playfully. I chuckled at them both, whilst I was slung in the middle of my two best mates.

"So, what have I missed?" I asked, changing the subject before it turned into a cat fight. I spotted Louise and Penny grin at each other. I rolled my eyes.

"What?" I asked, half of me not wanting to know the answer.

"There's a new boy called Dominic," Louise smirked, nodding over to a group of boys in our year who were gathered around the green area. I recognised all of them, except one; brown hair, goofy expression, his skin washed with a chocolate tinge that complimented his fluffy hair perfectly. I must have been staring for a subconsciously long time as he turned and flashed a small smile at us, Louise and Penny waved back casually whilst I stood there like an awkward penguin and did nothing.
