POV : Ryan

On the second day of my job, I was collecting my stuff as my lecture finished and was about to leave the room when a familiar voice caught my attention.

"Prof. Smith! I need to talk to you about my ..."

The voice said as I turned back.

I saw a familiar alluring face of a girl. I recognized her in a second.

But she stopped talking, looking at me open-mouthed.

"Mhmm...uhh...my...assignment." She stuttered the words with an apparent nervousness.

What happened to all her boldness? I wondered.

Then the thought came to me, which, obviously, delighted me again.

"So it seems the girl who decided to teach me shame the other day, happens to be my student. Interesting!"

I give her a crooked smile.

"Oh! So..you..uhh.. recognized me?"

That's not a question for me, girl.

"How could I forget you?"

I replied, looking intensely in her eyes. The place where I want to lose myself.

No, I can never forget that peace your face gave me, that beauty it holds.

She went pale at my words. I must've threatened her. But it's good for her. For that now, I'm her teacher.

"Actually I'm...here to apologize to you...which is obvious." She started talking again.

"I..didn't know that you are our new professor. I thought of you as some visitor shitting around in our campus and I.... should...not say that..."

What the crap!

Is this her way of apologizing to someone. To her professor?

I clenched my jaw to make my anger apparent to her and the threatened look on her face was back.

"I'm just..I'm...I'm really sorry about my behavior the other day. I am truly."

Now she sounded really apologetic.

She looked downwards with an innocent expression, which caused me forget my anger.

Don't worry, beautiful ! I'm surely gonna forgive your innocence.

"And..that's all?"

I asked, putting my things on the table.

"Uh..no..no..there's... something more. I....I couldn't finish my assignment. I  mean I tried but I could only complete almost half of it, so I'm apologizing for it again and I.. and my friends… we hope.. you'll forgive me and give me an extension. I just....hope."

She stopped talking.

So that was the actual reason for her apology. Just as I was wondering where all her boldness gone.

I'd have surely forgiven her for whatever she said to me outside the college. I wasn't even considering that as her mistake. But this was.

Whatever I am outside, I'm a teacher, extremely dedicated to his job. My job is the reason for what I am today. It earned me respect. It provided me my self - esteem. It's my life.

And I couldn't bear such indiscipline from my students.

"So this is what this apology is about, huh?"

I asked her.

"May I know the reason of your indiscipline, cause I think your professor must have given you sufficient time to complete your assignment ?"

Her expression changed. She narrowed her eyes, staring straight at me. The innocent face was far gone now.

"Some personal stuff."

She said in a rude voice, looking away.

That fucked me up. Am I here to care about her shitty personal stuff?

"I don't give a damn about your personal stuff. Sorry to say, but I can't accept your apology for that. No extension of any kind. And I don't expect such indiscipline from you in future, ever. Remember you're my student now !"

She looked at me frowning and the next thing she said, was so loud that every single soul inside the walls heard that.

"Whoa...really...you are talking about discipline...the guy who was smoking inside a University campus at the very first day of his job."

All eyes turned to me. Her action made me go ballistic. The volcano of my patience had exploded.

She humiliated me in front of my students, being one of them.

I can't take this shit anymore.

I gave a furious look to the whispering students to shut them up.

Then, looking at her, I crossed my hands and said bringing my face to her,

" Very blatant Miss! I really admire your courage. But you know what, I don't care about whatever happens between us outside the boundaries of this room, but inside this classroom, I am your teacher and you are just my student and I am not obliged to answer any of your questions but you are. So, just be prepared for the adventure that's coming your way."

I warned her.

She need to fix my every single word in her head.

I stepped back and collected my things, giving her a death stare.

"And please! Take this as a warning."

I said and left.
