Shane's POV
I woke up in the middle of the night with cold sweat and horrible oain in my head. I felt like I had just been hit with a baseball bat and that's exactly how I felt. It wasn't until I heard someone knock on the front door that I knew it was my mate calling to me. She was in pain.
I got up and hurried as fast as I can without having to throw up and as soon as I opened the door, she jumped into my arms like her life depended on it. I grabbed her tight and held her like a baby. When she looked up at me my heart tore in two.
She had tears streaming down her face and her eyes were rimmed red. She even smelled strongly like alcohol and vomit. Seeing her at her most vulnurable state just made me hold her tighter. I couldn't let her go and our touch right now was shooting electricity through my veins.
I picked her up and cradled her in my arms and walked back up the stairs to my room. I laid her down and let her continue to sob into my bare shoulder. She was wearing a dirty white tank top and some shorts that I enjoyed a little bit too much without meaning to.
When she finally stopped crying her voice was dry and cracking when she spoke to me.
"Shane?" She aked softly. Hearing her voice made me snap my head and look at her.
"What is it baby?" I said in a comforting way while I ran my hands through her hair.
"I need to leave." She said really flat.
I didn't want her to leave so I tried to argue about it.
"You can stay the night I don't mind, your no bother." I attempted.
She wouldn't look me in the eye as she cautiously spoke the next few words that made my heart stop.
"No, I need to leave here permanently." And after that, she got up and was about to leave but I stopped and stood in her way and tried to look as intimidating as I could. She flinched and began to cry again.
"Please don't leave me." I pressed.
"Shane, you don't understand." I tried to focus on what she was saying and not the way I loved when she said my name, but it was getting hard.
As soon as her words registered, I continued to order her to stay.
"You are not leaving and its final." I said in my alpha tone. My wolf was getting very angry that our mate wanted to leave us. I didn't blame him this time.
She cowered back and began to cry harder as she cupped her face with her hands.
"You can't leave my pack, I won't allow it because we need our luna as much as they need their alpha. You can't run away from your problems." I ranted at her. I hated seeing her cry but the longer I stayed around her, the more possessive I began to grow when it comes to her.
She nods her head in understanding and then before I knew it, she jumped in my arms again and held on to me as tight as she could.
