*Rosario's POV

"Happy birthday to you."

"No!" I groaned out pulling the blanket over my head.

"Happy birthday to you. Happy birthday, dear Rosario. Happy birthday to you." My mother sang. "Ya levántate so you can blow out la vela and make a wish."

"Fine," I sat up smiling. I closed my eyes and then blew out the candle making my mom smile.

"Okay." My mom got off my bed. "Get up," my mom patted my leg. "Oscar is outside."

"Ugh," I dramatically laid back down.

"Come on mija. You don't want to keep him waiting."

"Okay, okay, okay. I'm going." I dragged myself out of bed.

"Aye mira que linda," I blushed at my moms small compliment. "I'm going to go over to the Martinez's to talk to Ruby about Olivia's hair por so quince."

"Good luck with that," I laughed.

"Aye ese niño me va estresar mucho," my mother laughed.

I got my bag and we both walked out the door to see Oscar leaning against his Impala with a cigarette in hand. As soon as Oscar saw us he tossed his cigarette to the ground and put it out.

"Hola Oscar," my mother shouted as I locked the door. "Cómo estás mijo?" My mother smiled at him as I made my way over to them.

Oscar didn't have his usual shorts and tank top on. He was dressed up a bit. He had on black jeans and a black and grey plaid flannel on.

"Muy bien, gracias. And you?"

"I'm doing good," my mother nodded. "Just going to head over to Ruby's for some quince stuff para Olivia."

"If you want we can drop you off?" He offered. "It's just down the corner."

"No, está bien. I wouldn't want to interrupt your guy's plans."

"No it's fine." Oscar leaned off his car. "We've got all the time in the world. Come on," I smiled as he opened the door and pulled the seat forward. I got in the back so my mom could sit in the front.

After my mom got in, Oscar closed her door and made his way around the car. It was only a few seconds when we pulled up to Ruby's house.

"Bueno pues," my mom spoke up. "I'll see you guys later," she opened the car door and pulled the seat forward so I can sit in the front. "Cuídate eh," I nodded and sat down in the passengers seat and closed the door. "Cuídala Oscar."

"Always do," I felt Oscar put his hand over the seat.

"Oh shut up," I laughed making my mom chuckle.
