(Samuel P.O.V)
Wow. So many emotions have swelled inside of my body that I don't know which is stronger. I was the first to wake in the morning. The sun was just barely peaking to where it shown and it was still a bit cool.
Damien had his head on my arm and he was still sound asleep. What he said was still playing over in my head.
What did he mean by something bad?
I stared down at him. He was so beautiful and kind. No matter what he thought I knew he was strong. He had to be to have survived this long and stay sane.
I love him so much it almost hurt. I hope he knows that honestly no matter what I will always love him. He will always be mine.
He started to move and blink his eyes.
"God what time is it?" he asked.
"Barely dawn. The sun is just starting to rise." I said and stroked his hair. He blinked faster and startes to frantically get up.
"Whats wrong Damien?" I said and sat up.
"Oh my gosh. I have to get home. I can't believe I fell asleep out here all night. Father is going to be furious." he was struggling to button up his shirt.
"Calm down Damien. I'm sure he didn't even notice you were gone." I was trying to calm him down. He was was jumping into his pants and throwing on his boots. I knew he was nervous about sneaking home.
"I know he noticed. He always will notice. It may have been good for a little bit. Him coming home to late to bother. Or me leaving early enough to avoid him. It's like a ritual Samuel. I know. I know him." Damien said. He stopped for a moment and pressed his knees to his chest. His eyes glazed over with tears and he stared at me. I crawled over to him and sat in front of him. I placed my hands on the sides of his head and tilted his head back. I kissed his for head and then his lips slow and sweet.
"I love you Damien. Believe in that forever no matter what. You'll be fine." I whispered and kissed him again.
"I love you too Samuel. I have to go now." he said and stood to his feet. I stood with him and hugged him to me.
"I'll be back soon. I want to stay here a little longer. Damien?"
"Yes?" he replied.
"Do you regret last night? Being with me?" I asked him silently.
"Never." was all he said before walking away.
I sat down near the water after pulling on my clothes. I wondered how two people fall in love.
Does love just happen? Or are two people placed together? Like there is one person for everyone in the world and they had to find each other before they die.
I've only ever seen a man and a woman together and married. I always thought it was just the way it was suppose to be. A man marries and woman and has kids because it was to be expected of them. Whether love is there or not didn't matter.
So if that is the way it is what about Damien and I? What are we?
Wrong or right?
Sinful or special?
I don't know. But what I do know is that before love was foreign to me. Family love is different than this kind of love. This love is strong enough to kill a giant. This love is strong enough to over come anything thrown in it's path.
Damien is mine forever no matter what.
I noticed the sun was high in that sky now. I must have sat here for a couple of hours. No more than one or two though. I stood up and dusted myself off and headed back to Damiens home.
__thirty minutes later__
When I made back to Damiens I felt something was off. It was to quiet. Not even the sound of foot steps was visible.
I walked through the parlor and went to Damiens room first. I pushed the door open slowly and leaned my head in. No one was in there.
Where are they?I walked over to the hall way and tip toed to Mr. Reices door. His door was wide open and his room unoccupied. I breathed heavily and headed to the kitchen for a drink.
I guess they left. I was gone for a while.I opened the kitchen door and gasped loudly.
"Oh my God!" I shouted.
On the floor was Mr. Reice and in the corner of the kitchen was Damien. In his hands was a bloody knife. His face was of pure shock and pale. His lip was bleeding and his eye was bruised. His shirt was torn and hanging off his shoulder.
"Damien what happened here?" I asked.
