Well. I can understand why you would it fair to assume. After Amethyst, in all fairness, is probably the most logically thinking character of this story. But Amethyst doesn't hold a grudge against Steven. Even though she doesn't approve of his actions, Amethyst has a strong loyalty to Steven, which is one of her motives to expose her rivial. But also knows that's their is no way that Steven would be willing to be without his child. So she understands if she wishes to be with her lover, she must be willing to raise the child has hurt own. Which is not too much of an issue, since I don't her see disliking sharing a child with Steven.
