Maria's POV

I turned away as she changed into an outfit I lent her. As much as I subconsciously wanted to peak, I would never violate her privacy like that.

I couldn't wait to show her downtown. Show her all my favorite spots and everything else. Everyone else was at school, sow I knew we wouldn't run into anyone. After all, she need not know how hated I am.

"I was wondering," Eliza began once she finished dressing, "who does the other room belong to?" She asked, gesturing towards my dad's room.

I nearly gulped. "I used to have a roommate before I was able to pay the house off.." I lied.

"Ah!" She nodded.

"Anyway," I quickly changed the topic, "Ready to go?"

She nodded. I took a minute to admire how she looked in my clothes. I gave her one of my more conservative outfits, obviously. It looked a bit small on her, but for the most part it fit.

I noticed her looking at me almost studiously. I didn't mind. I grabbed my car keys and just like that we left.

As she hopped into the passenger seat, I offered to let her plug in her music to the amp. She smiled and agreed.

And so we drove and listened to her playlist.

♫♪ I don't wanna be your friend, I wanna kiss your lips ♪♫

I looked over at her occasionally as we drove, admiring her beauty as she gazed out the window.

♫♪ I wanna touch you, but not like this ♪♫

As we drove, I envisioned a future with Eliza. I knew I shouldn't but I couldn't control it.

♫♪ I don't wanna be your friend, I wanna be your bitch ♪♫

I pulled up to a parking lot downtown and parked my car. We let the song finish before eventually getting out.

She brushed her hand against mine curiously. I wanted to take her hand so bad. Just hold it and feel our souls intertwine. But I didn't. I couldn't do it. So, I just let my hand lay limp. Frozen.

Eliza moved her hand further from mine. "So, it there anywhere you wanted to show me?"

There was.

"I want to show you my favorite spot." I smiled. "Follow me."

She nodded and I led her to a park downtown that I love to go to. I used to go here with my dad when I was younger.

She looked around, taking in the scenery. Then, she noticed a swingset, widening her eyes. "Let's do that!" She begged, gesturing towards it.

I giggled. "As you wish. Race ya!" I began to run fast, trying to beat her to the swing.

She laughed and began to run after me, desperately trying to catch up. I wound up beating her, Eliza getting there a few seconds after me, leaning against me and heaving.

"You cheated!" She accused, still laughing.

"How?!" I responded, laughing too/

"Because I didn't win!" She snorted, leaning against me still.

I broke out in an absolute fit of laughter, leaning back on her as well.

"I love you..." I accidentally spill out of my mouth.

"What was that?" Eliza asked, turning towards me.

"I-I love FOOD!" I laughed nervously. "Let's eat!"

"Oh?" Eliza started. "I wanted to swing..."

"R-Right..." I nodded. "Let's swing!"

She shrugged and sat down on the swing, I joined on the one next to her.

"Hey, I bet I can swing higher than you!" She challenged.

I smirked. "You're on!"

So we swung, and we laughed, and we chatted some more. As time passed, we both became increasingly hungry, we didn't eat breakfast, after all.

"Want me to take you to my favorite pizza place?" I asked.

Her eyes lit up and she nodded her head.

So, we got up and began to walk.

Third Person POV

The girls walked side by side in silence as they made their way to the pizza place.

After gathering the courage, Eliza moved slightly closer.

"W-Would it be okay if I..." She began to ask sheepishly before gently grabbing Maria's hand and linking their fingers.

Maria blushed profusely and simply nodded, gripping her hand softly as they continued to walk.

Maria felt her heart flutter as she envisioned paradise in her mind. She could nearly cry from the overwhelming joy she felt at this moment.

Eliza continued to hold Maria's hand, relieved that Maria did not object.

After they made their way to the pizza parlor, both girls continued to hold hands, brushing arms as they walked.

When they finally arrived, Maria dropped Eliza's hand and waved at the owner. She was a regular here, as this was one of the only places she felt welcome and comfortable.

Maria walked with Eliza to an empty table and pulled out a chair for her to sit. Eliza smiled and sat down, Maria moving and sitting across from her.

Once they had put their orders in and their pizza arrived, they dug straight in.

"Mmm!" Eliza smiled. "You're right, this is delicious!"

Maria giggled and nodded, taking another bite.

Once they finished eating, the girls walked back outside, but it wasn't long before Eliza grabbed her arm and pulled her to the side.

"I-I need to tell you something..." Eliza whispered, pulling Maria closer until their faces were merely inches apart. "Maria... I-"

"Well, well, well..." A familiar man wearing a cowboy hat taunted, walking up behind the girls. "If it isn't little miss Maria Lewis..."

Maria froze, watching her paradise crumble in front of her face.
