Its been two weeks since Hailie and I decided that she should stick around. Since we've worked on my videos, pics, and just hung out like every day. Right now she's sitting on my living room floor in a white tank top and black shorts rocking out to Hotel Diablo while going over some photos she took today. I walked over and touched her shoulder, gently pulling out one of her earbuds "I'll be back I gotta say goodnight to Casie." She smiled at me and shoved my leg, " Go on daddy." She said with a laugh. I watched her put the earbuds back in her ears and went back to work. I went up to my daughters room and knocked on the door. "Case....you ready for bed?" Before I could turn around I felt her tackle me from behind. "I got you dad." I grabbed her flipping her upside down and over my shoulder," Now I got you." I carried her over to her bed and set her down. "Do you like her dad?"
"What?"
"Do you like her? Like LOVE her?"
I shook my head at her. "No, Case I don't LOVE her. She's cool."
She grinned at me. "You have a crush on her. I can tell."
Shit....when did my ten year old daughter become attuned to adult attraction.
"Maybe you're right. But I know something about you." She smirked.
"What's that?"
"You've got school in the morning which means that you have to go to sleep." I ruffled her hair. "Goodnight Case." She hugged me. " Goodnight dad"  I walked to the door and turned off the light closing the door behind me. As I got to the stairs I could hear Hailie talking to someone on the phone.
" Yeah, I met this guy.....he's amazing."
"No...no I just feel like he might be the one. Like he cares." She paused listening. " Mom he's perfect. He's tall, handsome.....God he's hot. Yeah, blonde hair gorgeous blue eyes. And his smile mother his smile is to die for." She laughed at something that her mother was saying. " No mom. He met Derek. That's what I was saying. He's the guy that kept me from going to the ER again." There was another pause then she sighed "Do I love him......yeah yeah I think I do."
YES...she loves me. It took everything I had not to run down the stairs and kiss her. To let her know that I loved her and that I wanted to be with her.
Fuck....maybe I was more like my Tommy Lee character then I thought. Before her I had never been a hopeless romantic. I had never wanted to be with one person so badly that when we were apart it hurt and when I was near her all I wanted to do was hold her. She finally said goodbye to her mother and hung up. With that I came back downstairs. And I wrapped an arm around her. "Miss me?"
"Ya actually. I need some advice." She looked at me and gave a shy smile. "Ok I'm all ears."
" Say I have a friend. Lets call her Amy. Say Amy is insanely attracted to this guy lets call him Tom. If Amy wants to tell Tom about her feelings but doesn't know how he feels about her. And she knows that he has a history of sleeping with girls and leaving them the next day. What should she do?" I looked at her. And with a gentle smile I say, " She should tell him. If he's smart he'll see that she is the woman of his dreams and he will tell her that he's loved her since the first time they spoke." She looked down at the photos in front of her. "Well Amy wants me to tell you Tom that she's in love with you." I smiled at her. "Well Amy, Tom wants me to tell you that he is head over heels in love with you." I quickly close the space between us and kiss her lips. " I've been in love with you since you sassed me at the tattoo shop." She just pulled me back in for another kiss.
