Two weeks later
I called Hailie but she didn't answer. This was getting me worried. She hadn't been answering my calls for the last couple of days. So I texted a friend asking him to go check on her.
Twenty minutes later
I get a call from an unknown Cleveland number. "Hello? Is this Colson Baker?" I paused before answering.
"Ya who's this?"
"My name is Tina Colt I work with Hailie. I was wondering if you had spoken to her over the last couple of weeks."
"Nah...I wish I had but I've been busy with the tour. And she hasn't been answering my calls."
"Oh.....I'M sorry." I could hear concern in her voice.
"Is she alright?"
"I....I don't know." I hung up the phone and called my friend.
"Dude, is she good?"
"She's not there." I swore under my breath. "I'm gonna call her again." So I hung up and tried to FaceTime her. She picked up on the second ring. And what I saw killed me.

I could see her dirty clothes and the dark circles under her eyes

I could see her dirty clothes and the dark circles under her eyes. It looked like she was sitting at an old railstation.
"Colson...I'm sorry." I could hear the sadness in her voice. She was shaking so badly that the camera was shaking.
"I'm coming back so that I can take care of you." I watched as she struggled to find words.
"Its my depression. I had to get away from the house."
"I love you and I'm on my way home. We already called the other stops to tell them that we aren't coming." I talked to her for hours. And when my friend came to pick her up she went with him without much of a fight.
" Go to sleep babe. I'll be there when you wake up." After the plane ride I hopped in to an uber and went straight to her place. When my friend saw me he gave a nod then left. I patted Gunner's head and looked around. There was trash on the floor. I bent down and picked up a photo of myself. I could see where her tears had landed on it. I ran upstairs to her room. I opened the door gently and walked in. "Hailie...baby." I gently stroked her hair. It looked like she hadn't had a shower in a while. So I lifted her into my arms and carried her over to the bath tub. As I ran the bath water I washed her face. My hands scrubbing away the dirt. She was now awake and she looked so embarrassed. Now that her beautiful face was clean I set her on her feet and helped pull off her dirty clothes. As I helped with her shorts my fingers grazed a healing gash on her hip. She tried to cover it but I brushed her hand away. I knew what I was looking at. "Baby...was this because I left?" I looked deep into her eyes.I felt a wave of pain as she nodded shame in her eyes. She stared at the water."You weren't supposed to know." I pull her into my chest hugging her with everything I had. "I will never leave you. I will never let anyone hurt you. And if I have to bring you on every tour until the day we die. You will never have to deal with this alone again. I promise." I helped wash her hair then dryer her off. I gave her one of my shirts to wear. She looked at me and frowned. "Colson why did you pick me? Why am I so special?" I pulled her into my arms. " You have a way of making me feel like I have something to live for other than my daughter. You don't want fame or money. You want me. That's what makes you special." I pulled her into the bed. Wrapping her in my arms as I pulled the blankets around us. "I love you....and I'm never going to leave."
