Chapter 2...
NO P.O.V...
It had been a month since Astrid had met Leo and both had become really close friends. The one single study session had become a daily occurrence, they would hang out together whenever they could at school and after school. They would have a laugh together, the mixture of Astrid's sarcasm and Leo's good sense of humour were perfect. Astrid could feel some sort of urge in her heart whenever she saw him, but she wasn't quite sure what it was.
The exams were close to finishing, meaning that the exam that Astrid was dreading was coming up...
Maths.
Astrid had asked Leo if they could revise together more after school that usual, because she was nervous about not doing enough to prepare. And of course, Leo agreed.
Both were sat in the library, notes spread out everywhere, maths equations written down and calculators on. It was 4.30pm and they hadn't realised they were the only ones left in the library. They were alone... together...
"... And to calculate that angle you use Pythagoras! Do you want me to show you more?" Leo was writing out the method of Pythagoras on some paper and then looked up to see Astrid with a blank face, pale and very quiet, staring at the sheet.
"Astrid... Astrid... ASTRID!"
"Huh what?" Astrid came out if her daydream and looked back at Leo in surprise.
"Are you ok? You don't look so good..."
"Yeah... I'm uh... I'm fine..."
"Right spill!"
"Spill what?"
"You keep going off into your own world and you look extremely... well... dead!"
Astrid chucked a bit "I guess I'm just... nervous..."
Leo moved closer to Astrid. "Ok, what are you nervous about?"
"This maths exam! I can't keep anything in my head! My nerves are literally tremberling! I have hardly gotton any sleep over these past few weeks! I keep getting headaches! Every time I work out an answer, my answer is always wrong always!! I'm gonna fail alright! I know it!" Astrid finally managed to let it all go, her breathing was fast and she was on the verge of tears.
"Hey..." Leo moved closer to Astrid more, bringing her into a comforting hug and holding her for a solid minute. When he moved back he saw a few tears falling down her cheeks. With one hand on her shoulder, he used the other hand to wipe away her tears gently and kept his hand on her cheek. "You are not gonna fail... you are going to pass this exam and wonder what all this worrying was about... I believe in you so much! You can do this Astrid, I'm gonna stay with you all night if I have to, to help you with your revision until I see you give me a smile of confidence. Ok?" She smiled at her as she looked at him on defeat.
"Ok..." Astrid whispered back.
They stayed in the same position, his hands on her shoulder and cheek whilst her hands were slowly moving towards his arms. As they shared into eachother's eyes, they didn't realise that both of them were getting closer together. In a small move, Astrid's lips touched Leo's, closing her eyes in the process. Leo was shocked at first but began to melt into the kiss and kiss back. After holding for a few seconds, they slowly released for air and both plastered with a smile on each of their faces, in relief and embarrassment. They both laughed at eachother after realising what had just happened.
"Common..." Leo whispered as he moved his hands to hold Astrid's. "Let's pass this maths exam!"
