"Dad?" I ask, turning away from the glass window that looks into the interrogation room.
"Hey kid, how you doing?" he replies, sounding perfectly content.
"I'm fine, but is something wrong? You know it's distracting when you call me while I'm working," I say.
"I know, I know, I just wanted to tell you I love you," he says. I purse my lips to keep my emotions back.
"I love you too. Tell Mom I said hi. I gotta go Dad," I respond quickly.
"Alright, kiddo," he says, reluctantly. "Will we see you soon?"
"Sure, I'll stop by as soon as I get home," I promise. I hang up and look down, afraid to look Spencer in the eye.
"Allie," he says gently, reaching out to me, "are you alright?"
"Fine," I reply, pulling slightly away. "I'm going to visit my parents as soon as we get back, though."
"Of course," he says, turning towards the boxes of files. I take a deep breath before continuing to package everything up.

Landing back home, I swiftly walk to my car, Spencer right on my heels.
"It'll be really quick, I just want to make sure they're okay," I say, speeding through my words as I slide into the driver's seat. Hotch said it was completely alright if I stopped by my parents' house, since he has to finish paperwork for the case anyway.
"Allie, it's fine. Really," Spencer replies, gently trying to calm me down. "They're my future in-laws, I want to make sure they're okay as well." I vaguely nod, concentrating on the quickest way to get to my destination. It should only take 20 minutes, but luck isn't on my side, and traffic is everywhere. I run my hands through my hair, attempting to steady my already stressed nerves.
Finally, I pull up to my parents' driveway. Rushing out of my car, I punch in the garage door code and run up the stairs.
"Mom? Dad?" I call, looking around their kitchen for any sign of them. Dad appears in the doorway, and he opens his arms for me. I smile with relief and wrap my arms around him. I see my mom coming behind him, and I pull away just to be embraced by my other parent.
"Hey, kid, I'm glad you came down to see us," Dad says.
"Hope we're not taking away from your busy crime fighting life, sweetheart," Mom adds. I smile and shake my head.
"Of course not," I reply. "I'm always happy to come visit, anytime I'm home." Spencer comes into the kitchen, slightly out of breath.
"Hello, Spencer," Dad says, taking Spence's hand.
"Nice to see you again, sir," he replies.
"So glad to see you again, Spencer," Mom says while pulling him in for a hug. He gingerly hugs her back. "Do you guys want anything to eat?"
"No, that's alright, Mom," I answer, leading them into the family room.
"Spencer, could I actually talk to you for just a moment?" my dad asks, pulling Reid aside. He nods, looking back at me briefly before following him.
"What's going on?" I immediately ask.
"Oh, it's probably nothing," Mom responds. "He might just be talking about the wedding again. You know, the stuff he wants hidden from the beautiful bride." I smile hesitantly and glance back at the doorway my dad and Spence left through.
