Love helps. But it will not fix. Yes, it helps a lot in the healing process, but don't you ever think that someone will heal from something as devastating as a mental disorder/trauma over the course of getting a boyfriend/girlfriend. You may get happy for a while but the part of your mind that's causing these disorders/trauma problems does not give two shits about your relationship status. In some cases, getting a love interest can even worsen the effects of the mental disorder. It takes a lot of TLC to help someone out of something like that, and its incredibly hurtful and misinforming to suggest that things can change in the blind of an eye. Furthermore its naive to believe that anyone with a problem like this can be ''fixed''. No you can't fix them, you can help them repair themselves to function like they used to but you can't completely fix them as an outside influence. Now I ain't saying that characters with Trauma/disorders/ect. shouldn't get the love interests while still in the process of healing. However their significant other should not ever be the lone source of healing, nor should healing ever be instant. Healing takes self discovery as well. So even if the person's boyfriend/girlfriend is the only person they can trust, they still need to do their own soul searching that has little to do with that significant other. This doesn't mean that the significant other can't give them massive boost or have a big impact on their thoughts either. But seriously just don't let your character be fixed by completely by someone else.
