CHAPTER09

"Can I hold your hand?"

This was it, Jeongin thought as he met eyes with a nervous and blushing Felix. He internally grabbed his chest, trying to calm down the overwhelming feeling to melt into a pathetic puddle of happy goo.

So, with much difficulty, he channels all that feeling to his brain, forcing himself to let out a more than painful, "Okay."

Felix all but beamed at that, hesitantly lacing his fingers through Jeongin's.

This must be what it feels like to enter the gates of heaven. When this was simply two boys walking home from swim practise while it was freezing-balls.

The high street was understandably still quite packed, students from all the schools in the district eager to buy a hot drink or snack from the shops now that school had finished for the week, or simply wonder around until dark.

Although his friends had promised to leave both Jeongin and Felix alone for the afternoon, Jeongin swore the group of individuals sneaking behind them and taking videos looked suspiciously like Hyunjin, Seungmin, Woojin and Jisung. Maybe even Chan, Minho and Changbin.

But the people around them was the least of his worries, because today, Jeongin was going to ask Felix to be his boyfriend, since they hadn't officially asked that question yet.

Maybe this was too fast, since they had only been on two and a half coffee dates (one was gate crashed by Chan, bless him, who hadn't realise it was a date at the time) and only started holding hands about 4 minutes ago, but Jeongin had decided- he was going to ask him today.

No matter what.

"So," Felix started, "Want to get something to eat? You hungry?" He asked casually, swinging their intertwined arms as they walked down the street, side stepping all the other patrons.

"Are you hungry?" Jeongin asked instead.

Felix chuckled deeply, the vibrations ticking Jeongin's chest. Their shoulders were pressed close, and Jeongin had discovered (after their long hug after the first coffee) that Felix was practically a human furnace, making Jeongin feel a little warmer than he really felt under the thin jacket he was wearing.

"I asked you, idiot." He said fondly, smile lingering as he looked at Jeongin admiringly.

Jeongin gulped, "Can I ask you something else instead?"

Felix smiled cheekily, eyes folding into cresent moons, "Something more important than food? You've intrigued me Yang Jeongin."

Lightly slapping Felix's shoulder with his free hand, Jeongin calmed down, not sure why he was worrying so much before. It was just Felix, who definitely felt the same way about him.

"I was asking if you'd like to be-"

Felix suddenly flinched, cutting Jeongin off at he abrupt movement, eyes tearing away from Jeongin and up at the tall building across from them.

And at that moment, someone screamed.

Jeongin quickly followed the others gaze, only for his stomach to drop, a man in a business suit was dangling from the window at one of the top floors, another person desperately trying to pull them up by their blazer, but it was obvious that if he lost balance, both of them would fall to the ground.

And most likely not survive.

Oh god.

Immediately, Felix changed, he was already shrugging his backpack off his back, and Jeongin's heart started to beat out of his chest when Felix suddenly tugged to pull their hands apart.

"Where are you going?!" He cried.

Felix looked stunned for a minute, like he had forgotten he was holding Jeongin's hand in the first place, shaking in place, "To go get some help!"

Perhaps Jeongin should've been a little concerned at how quickly he almost believed that lie, a part of him screaming, BUT YOU ARE THE HELP MORON.

However he then realised, that was all the more reason to let go.

So he did, let their hands drop, as his expression became indifferent.

"Be safe." He muttered, but Felix was already gone, running so quickly into the crowd that Jeongin almost missed him.

It was not even thirsty seconds later did Spiderman shoot his web to the building from another one nearby, swinging through the crowd and up towards the building. People screamed in fear and amazement, shouting encouragement and help towards the superhero.

The web snapped, and for a split second the crowd gasped and Jeongin felt the lump in his throat begin to suffocate him. However, Felix quickly stuck vertically onto the building, in a crouching position. Quickly, he stood up and Jeongin lept forward, before he remembered Felix could somehow defy the laws of gravity.

Sticking to the glass by his feet, he began to sprint up the side of the building.

Jeongin screamed out loud and nearly fell to the ground when Felix suddenly pushed himself off the building, only just in time to grab onto the falling man, shooting out a web and swinging them both the neighbouring rooftop.

The crowd cheered as the man wobbled to the side of the roof, waving down to the crowd beneath.

But spiderman was already gone.

And as quickly as he disappeared, Felix suddenly reappeared, jogging towards Jeongin, his hair and shirt buttons undone and messy.

"What happened?!" He cried convincingly, "I tried to look for help but I couldn't find any police officers or- oomph." He puffed out as the younger boy practically lept into his arms, wrapping his arms around the others neck.

"Wow- what's this for? What did I miss?" Felix chuckled nervously, but melted into the hug, voice wavering a little.

Jeongin then realised Felix was probably in need of a hug more than he was, "Nothing, that just kind of scared me."

It might've just been his imagination, but he could've sworn he heard the quietest mutter of, "Me too."

Jeongin said nothing and tightened his grip, locking them in a hug that he wasn't going to let go of anytime soon.

Even if that evening, the groupchat was spammed with over a hundred pictures of them hugging in the middle of the high street, at about twenty different angles.
