The mystery of ancient Greece

Mykonos-day one

Everything started on a normal day.I woke up at 6am and got ready by the time my mother and father finished checking for the last time that everything was in order.We stepped into one of the many taxis that ride the streets of the busy New York.My parents and I were heading towards the airport getting ready to fly to our destination in Europe:Mykonos, where we would be staying for the next 10 days.
After security we had to wait 2 hours before our plane arrived.It was late just like I had predicted.This vacation was already starting on the wrong foot.I was pissed off and so were my parents.Just our luck.
Later that evening around 6pm we landed at the airport and by half past 7 we had already checked in and gotten comfy in our apartment.
"Chase,get ready.We're going out!" My Dad yelled
"But we just got here!"I yell back annoyed
"I don't care.Your mother and I want to have dinner and  you're coming with us."
I quickly took a shower and got ready to go to dinner in one of the fancy restaurants my father looked up just as we arrived.My parents can be quite picky when it comes to eating outside.Only the best restaurants with the highest prices are restaurants you'll see us sitting in.It can be frustrating because my parents only expect me to dress appropriately and look presentable.
That night I was wearing a casual but at the same time elegant outfit.I styled my hair in a modern pompadour with gel and put on,as usual, my shark tooth necklace.
The restaurant was only a few minutes away on foot.We had reserved for half past eight and by 10 we had already paid the bill and were heading back home.
After that dumb dinner I decided to head to the beach for a walk under the full moon while the moonlight flooded everything it touched with its white light.
My parents wanted to go home and unpack our bags so I stayed outside alone.
The waves were so calm so I took off my shoes and socks and started walking bear foot on the sand.
I rolled up my jeans as high as I could and believe me it was hard, you know how it is,with skinny jeans and everything,and started heading towards deeper waters.
Suddenly I saw this female figure sitting by the water staring at the moon with her chestnut hair tied up in a chignon that had hair peeking out of it because of the cool night breeze.
Swiftly she turned her stare down and looked at me.I realized I was staring,how embarrassing.
"What are you looking at boy?"she said."Nothing.You were staring at the moon"I replied."Well you were staring at the water.So what?It's the same thing." Her answer sounded annoyed. "Sorry,but do I need to explain myself to you?"I say suddenly ticked off by this behavior.
"No,of course not.Have a good night."
"You too".
As I walked back to the apartment I saw her walking in my same direction and just as I arrived in front of the apartment complex a voice from behind says "What a chance.We meet again." I turn around and it's her.The mysterious girl from the beach.Now I could see her face clearly.She had dark chestnut hair and blue/silver eyes that looked exactly like the color of the moon.She was dressed extremely fancy with a short red dress and red heels.She was also wearing a moon crescent-shaped necklace and had earrings the shape of arrows.She isn't tall.With her 4 inch heels she's about 5.6.
"You live here?"I ask. "Yeah.I had to escape my parents and their dumb fancy dinners."

Hurrah!She actually replies.I hope answering normally didn't drain you.

"Well what do you know?I had so too.It gets an your nerves because maybe for once you'd like to chill out at home with a plate of I don't know,something,right?"
"Exactly like that."She says.
Just when it seems like she had changed her behavior towards me,when I opened the door for her she says "I don't need you to open the door for me." Like she were a superior being.

Ugh!Rude much?

I rolled my eyes,pretended not to care or hear her bitchy remark and started walking up the stairs to the first floor.As I neared my apartment I say "Good night" as politely as possible and head in.

What a guy.Why was he staring at me?God that was annoying.Didn't he have anything else better to do than start staring at me?What a creep!

But I had to admit it he was really handsome.I don't think I ever met a guy like him back at home.He was tall,about 6 feet, and muscular with tanned skin.His black hair was swept back and he had the most beautiful blue eyes I had ever seen with little specks of sea green.He was wearing a light blue shirt,black skinny jeans and low top red vans.He also had a cool necklace with the shape of a shark tooth peaking out of the shirt.
As I opened to my apartment I could hear my twin brother making a mess out of the house and I immediately knew that my parents were still outside.Just as I was about to close I heard a voice bidding me good night and I knew immediately that besides my intentional snarky remark the guy I met was still a gentleman.

If only...I hope to see him again.

Just as I closed the door my senses turned to the room and I could hear music thumping in my ears. "LEON,CUT IT OUT.TURN OFF THE MUSIC" I screamed. "Okay,calm down sis.I just put on some music while mom and dad are away."
"Are you an idiot?They could be here any minute now and that was not music that was an overlapping of different sounds.We're not in a disco.We have people trying to sleep in the apartments next to us." I was so shocked by his behavior but I should have been expecting this.After all,he's the immature one.I started getting ready despite what I would have to explain later to my parents.There were popcorn and chips everywhere and if my parents asked where I was,I would have to disappoint them and say that I left my twin alone to go see the moon at the beach.
"Leo,start cleaning up,mother is going to kill us.I wouldn't be telling you this if the only one risking was you.Come on!" I was starting to panic. "Fine- He said- calm down jeez". I rolled my eyes and put on my pjs after brushing my teeth.
I threw out the bags of chips and popcorn while my brother swept the floor from the food."You are an idiot,you know that,right?" I say to him. "Yeah.But I'm your idiot." He replies and we both burst out laughing. "That's totally something you would say in a tv series."
"One hundred percent" I say."Let's just go to bed before they come home.Oh,and Leo?Now I don't have the energy,but tomorrow I'm sooo going to kill you."
"I can't wait." He says sarcastically as he goes to the bathroom.
It was midnight snd my parents sill hadn't come home.Apparently we'll see them in the morning.Leo went to bed quickly after me.
"Night Naomi"
"Night Leon"
I fell asleep almost immediately dreaming about the mysterious boy with the beautiful eyes.

She was beautiful.I couldn't stop thinking about the girl I met.Even my parents saw that something was,let's say, "wrong" with me.
"Chase,what's up with you?"
My mom asked. "It's like you've been in the realm of dreams since you came back from you walk.What happened out there?" I could tell she was worried but I didn't know what to tell her.If I said:

Hey mom,I met a strange girl on the beach.She was a bitch but she was beautiful.

She would surely stare at me and say that I am crazy.So I just said: "Nothing.I was just thinking about how beautiful the moon was and its reflection in the sea.It was mesmerizing."
"Oh,I thought something had happened."
"No,don't worry about it mom.And you too dad.It's nothing"
I went to my room to get ready.I knew for for a fact my dad hadn't bought the act because of the way he looked at me.And that was confirmed,as soon as I left the room my dad started planting seeds of doubt in my mom's head.He's an army general.Of course he doesn't believe me.
I got ready to go to bed and set my alarm at 8 so I could be at the beach by 9.My parents were in their room still discussing what could have happened to me while I drifted asleep dreaming about surfing, my passion and the mystery girl.

I don't think that was the girl's usual behavior.I bet there was something bothering her.We'll see tomorrow.
