Superstition-day two part one

Do you believe in foreshadowing?Are you superstitious?Well I'm neither but certain events can lead you to doubt yourself.

Somehow a nightmare interrupted my dream and I woke up all sweaty and was breathing heavily.I couldn't remember what I had dreamt about.I could only recall a big symbol, a blue trident in front of my eyes. I got up immediately and decided I should forget everything and just go to the beach.I could already smell my mother already cooking breakfast:scrambled eggs and bacon.I ate a bite,brushed my teeth and put on my swimming trunks.My towel was already on the sofa,so I picked it up and went out the door.
"See you later mom."
"Bye Chase."
My father was still sleeping and probably dreaming about what had happened to me yesterday and I didn't want him to be grumpy so I didn't wake him up.
The sun was shining as the clock struck 9am and I was taking a walk along the promenade.There was still nobody on the beach so I put my towel down and dived into the crystal clear water.I have always loved water since I was a child.

How I wish I could talk to fish...animals are better than people any day.

As I got out I saw the girl from yesterday.

What was her name...?Oh that's right se didn't tell me.She was so rude she wouldn't have told me even if I asked her.

I jogged up to her.She was sitting in the shade under a big palm tree full of coconuts
"Hey you!" I called out to her
"Oh,it's you." she didn't seem pleased to see me.
"Yeah,it's me,so what am I not allowed to say hi?"
"No,of course not.I just wasn't expecting you to show up."
"Well you didn't tell me your name."
"Naomi."
"Nice to meet you again.I'm Chase."
"Listen Chase,I'm-"
"Oh I'm not interested in going out if you're asking."
"What?No no,I wanted to apologize for how I acted yesterday.Why would you assume I would ever want to go out with you?"
"I know it's bold to assume so,so I apologize if I offended you by saying that.It's just that I'm used to girls throwing themselves at me because you know what 'surfer boy' means usually,right?"
"Yeah,I know" she said looking at the sky
All of a sudden she seemed to be day dreaming so I shook her a little.
"Naomi,hey,are you ok?"
"I was just thinking about a dream I had last night,or was it a nightmare?I really don't know"
"I had a sort of nightmare too.I woke up abruptly but the odd thing is that I only remember a symbol,a trident."
"Really?I had a bow and and arrow."

How strange...could it be a coincidence?Probably it is.But my gut tell me otherwise.My instincts have never failed me.

"It's strange.I'm probably just jet lagged.What's your explanation?"
"The same.I got here yesterday."
"Me too" I said
A tall blonde-haired guy approached us.
"Hey sis,is this guy bothering you?" He asked.
"No,don't worry about it,we were just chatting.We met yesterday."

Wait...hold on...sis?These guys do NOT look alike at all.Like literally.

She has chestnut hair and he has blonde hair.She has silver eyes while he has dark blue eyes.
"Uhm...sorry,sis?Are you siblings?"
"Sorry.Chase,meet my twin brother Leon or Leo."
"Leo this is Chase."
"You failed to mention meeting this guy yesterday when you got home." The guy said while giving me the stink eye.
"Leon Hunter,leave Chase alone.You two could get along together."
"I don't suppose Chase here can surf?"
"I can actually.I'm a professional surfer.United states under 18 champion."
"You don't say...would you like to rent a surf and go to the beach near by one of these days?"
"I wouldn't mind" I said curious to see how well he could surf.
"See?You even found a common interest" Naomi said trying to convince her brother.
"Yeah,he's not so bad maybe."
"Hey!I'm standing right here."
They started laughing at me.I couldn't believe it.What was so funny now?
"Seriously?Guys?What's so funny?"
"Nothing,don't worry about it."
It was already noon and the Hunters has to head home for lunch.I on the other hand could stay at the beach until one.
The sun was shining brightly on the golden sand but luckily it wasn't too hot because of the cool wind breeze.I headed home and got dressed: orange tank top, jean shorts and kept my flip flops.I had lunch and headed outside.

I had a terrible dream last night.But when I woke up I couldn't remember anything else except a symbol: a silver bow with an arrow.It was quite unusual.Anyway I decided it was nothing important and got ready to go to the beach.
By 10 we were at the beach.I love the beach because of the water but I absolutely hate the sun and that's why I set my bag and towel under the shade of a coconut tree.

It's terrible how people make these trees suffer.It's not their natural environment.They're exotic plants.You're not supposed to see them on the coasts of the Mediterranean Sea.

I started fumbling with my phone hoping that my best friend would call me.Meanwhile my brother had already left me to go swimming so I was left alone.
I saw a figure getting out of the water,it was a tall guy,but I couldn't make out his face,he was too far.He started jogging towards me and when he got nearer I saw who he was:the mystery guy from the night before.

Oh.My.God.

He was wet and water was dripping down his perfectly sculpted abs.He swept back his wet hair and it looked exactly like in the movies: when the girl sees the attractive guy everything starts moving in slow motion.

Well hello handsome.

As he got near me I looked down so he wouldn't notice me staring.When he got under my tree he called out to me.
"Hey you." He said.I got nervous and when I get nervous I say stupid things for example:
"Oh,it's you." And that was exactly what I said.He thought I didn't want to talk to him,he totally misunderstood me.Well that was totally my fault but whatever.
"Well you didn't tell me your name." He said
"Naomi."
"Nice to meet you again.I'm Chase." He said greeting me in the most respectful way possible.
I then remembered my behavior form yesterday but when I started apologizing he thought I was hitting on me.Believe me it was hard not to stare but I can control myself.I don't like when guys think that just because they're handsome they are who knows what.So that's why I asked him:
"Why would you assume I would ever want to go out with you?" I asked.
He started apologizing immediately.I could tell he was nervous and embarrassed.It actually looked cute.
And that's when I realized he wasn't like other guys.He was really respectful.
All of a sudden the symbol from yesterday flashed in my head and I couldn't shake it off.It was as if I were stuck in limbo until Chase shook me out of my trance.
"Naomi,hey,are you ok?" He asked me
So I explained my strange dream/nightmare to Chase and he said a similar thing happened to him too.

I really don't think this was a coincidence.I don't believe in foreshadowing and I don't want to but this dream is making it quite difficult to maintain certain beliefs.

Even though we decided we were just tired from the flight I still had my doubts.
Just when we were starting to get along my brother came and started being the overprotective big brother.With his tough guy voice he asked:
"Hey sis,is this guy bothering you?" I explained to him I met Chase yesterday but as I said that I realized I made a mistake by telling him because I forgot to mention him to Leo the night before.
Chase was confused and asked us to explain so I introduced them to each other.Leo was still not convinced about Chase.He stared testing him to see if he was any good with his stupid questions(like he always does with every guy I meet).
"I don't suppose Chase here can surf?" He asked him.
I was almost positive the guy didn't surf or at least not as a sport,but maybe as a hobby.
"I can actually.I'm a professional surfer.United States under 18 champion" He replied.This answer left me shocked.United States champion?Was he kidding?

Is this guy for real?I don't and I won't believe this.

My brother was less shocked than me.After all I knew nothing about surf,but my brother did,he surfed as a hobby.I was happy they found a thing in common and I couldn't help but try to convince my brother it was a positive thing.Luckily I did it.
"Yeah,he's not so bad maybe." He said.
Chase said something then but I wasn't listening.I was busy looking at the bird that was trying to sit down on his head.Too bad he didn't see him.It was so funny I elbowed Leo and when he saw it too we bursted out laughing.
Chase couldn't understand what was happening.
"Seriously?Guys?What's so funny?"
"Nothing,don't worry about it."
He gave up on trying to find out the reason why we were laughing.
"Sorry Chase,but we have to head home for lunch." My brother said.And he was right:it was noon.
"Ok.I'll see you tomorrow maybe?"
"Sure" I said.We packed our things and headed home.
After lunch we decided to go for a walk and explore the city of Mykonos.
