Yelena Belova grew up alongside Natalia, she was also training to become an undercover spy for the KGB.

At the top of her class, she was always achieving the very best grades and impressing all of her instructors. This often made the other girls in her class jealous.

But Yelena had a gut feeling something wasn't right in the Red Room. 

That they had bad intentions.

Intentions to do something evil, to create a monster. 

Or monsters, even, since their main objective was to make multiple Black Widows.

When Yelena decided enough was enough,  she took it upon herself to plan her escape. 

Lucky for her, she made it out alive.

But she missed Natalia, her childhood friend.

She often wished that their paths would cross one day.

I guess you could say wishes do come true.
