Wonders of This Earth

Brother, follow me.
Sister, travel with me.

I want to go and see
all the wonders of this earth,
all the beauty that is only found
in small things.

The soft mists above the ground
when the sun just starts to rise.

The deep dark green of a wild
and untouched forest.

The winding roads leading through
half the world, always the same.

The sunset over a rocky beach,
when the waves crash against the shore.

The buzz of a lively city at night
with neon signs and wandering crowds.

The burning desert sands
and the hot winds in my face.

The icy glaciers spreading for miles,
devouring and seducing.

The sleepy villages with wooden houses
and wide fields to hide in.

The extensive steppe
and its rare vegetation.

The massive mountains with snow-covered peaks
and clear cold mountain lakes.

The cliffs where the sea is raging
and the wind is strong.

Follow me, brothers and sisters,
see all the wonders with me,
meet the faces of this earth,
wander with me...

... you might find that most places
are just like any other.
