Hate To See Me

I know you'd hate to see me now,
wearing my glasses proudly,
no make-up mask on my face,
my hair bright red,
my clothes wide and colourful
instead of tight and revealing,
me trying new things,
finding myself each day,
speaking any way I want to speak,
laughing any way and any time I want to
without your disapproving look,
spending time with the kind of people you hate.

Oh, how I wish you could see me now.
And do you know what you'd hate most?
People love me as I am.
