Luke's POV-

Today, unfortunately, I had to go to school.

I didn't want to stay and make March suspect anything.

As I walked down the street, I looked at some kids up ahead.

They were fighting for a small blue ball, it kind of was like the earth and society.

Everyone fighting for money, land, and even people.

It really was amaizing to see how far our world has gone.

From war to war, and each individual fighting on for their own cause.

Our neighbor fighting for a better goverment.

The guy across the street for better protection.

The woman two blocks down for equality.

I was fighting for Ashton because he deserved his natural rights.

It was odd for me to feel this attraction for the hazel eyed boy.

Going from foster home to another was very weird for me. I rarely got attached to anything.

He gave me a sort of emotion I have never quite felt.

It was like Pompeii was settled in my stomach ready to explode. The volcano would erupt and let out the millions of butterflies that fluttered when I opened the door and saw him standing there.

Needless to say, I had attraction to the sad and defenseless boy.

Slowly and effortlessly I made to the front gate of my school, towards the dreadful day ahead of me.

.

After school, I didn't have footy practice because it started to drizzle rain. The rain wasn't the problem but the lighting was.

Our coach didn't want to risk any of our limbs getting damaged before our first game so he cancelled practice.

Which brought me here, walking in the drizzle of rain, hair flat on my forehead.

March had a some church meet up, and no not a church's chicken meet up.

She was usually gone until about 6:00pm, meaning I was alone.

My shoes scraped against the dark white paint peeling from the porch planks.

I hesitantly took out my silver key and put it into the key hole, twisting the knob to open the creaky door.

When I walked in, it was silent like the usual.

Locking the door, I made my way to my room, kicking off my shoes at the door.

Instantly, like the norm I went to the grape size hole, "Pssst Psst."

Not long, after mid shuffling, I saw the familiar hazel eye.

I pursed my lips, kneeling and standing up to walk to the kitchen.

Taking the bronze key that had a small chip at the top, I opened the door to the basement.

The basement reeked, but I chose to ignore it.

As I walked down, I let my vision adapt to the darkness as I walked in search for the curly haired boy.

My sneakers stepped in the water, which was probably the reason for the horid smell.

There was the splashing of feet running in the water. Not a minute later, I was embraced in a hug.

I felt Ashton's heavy breathing hitting my neck.

"Hey bud.", I spoke gently, guiding the boy out of the darkness and into the living room.

"I missed you.", Ashton mumbled against my chest.

He was very vulnerable and I couldn't help, but think of all the times people took advantage of him.

"Hey bud, why don't we get you something to eat, huh?", I tilted my head towards him.

He nodded, slowly detaching himself from my torso.

We made it to the kitchen counter. Where I took out a can of "spaghetti-o's."

It was my dinner, but Ashton seemed to need it more when looking at his skinny figure.

He shakily took a seat across the counter top, watching me open the can and pour it into a bowl.

As we waited for the "spaghetti-o's" to warm from the microwave, I took in Ashton's features.

His golden locks and hazel eyes with his cute nose were covered with a thin coat of red.

He stood tall, but not as tall as me and his frail body hid behind my sweater.

He buried his head in his arms, looking at me curiously.

I smiled at him which he returned his cheeks developing into a series of creases.

"Here you go love eat up while its warm.", I told him laying the bowl of "spaghetti-o's" in front of him with a spoon.

He smiled gratefully as he took a spoonful of spaghetti into his mouth.

It didn't take long before he pushed the clean bowl towards me, that once held the hot spaghetti.

A small burp erupted from his lips, making me smile at the cute action.

"C'mon darling.", our fingers interwined when I guided him towards our backyard.

His bare, dirty feet gently padded their way into the grass.

He shivered at the nostalgic feeling of nature.

He wiggled his toes slightly taking the whole step.

Ashton looked up at me, as if asking for permission to take his body outside.

I nodded, making him gently smile and take two whole steps.

His body made contact with the sun, making him breath in.

"Thank you...Lukey.", Ashton spoke hesitantly.

I was glad and smiled at the nickname, happy that he trusted me enough to give me a nickname.

We sat in the middle of the yard, not minding the small drizzle on us, that slowly came to a stop.

We talked. He told me things, like what book he had read last or what album he had once owned.

He giggled as I pulled a corny knock knock joke on him.

We sat there for the remaining time, just getting to know eachother.

The drizzle stopped but it hit hard enough for the small dirt to smear across his button nose. The sun had come out alowly hitting every corner of Ashton's face.

I told him of things, like who was the current president and other useless facts we would never need.

That was how our da- well our day till 6pm took over.
