"You've been grounded!" Antkit woke to someone screaming in his ear. "You've been grounded!"

"Shut up!" The tiny black tom roared, thinking that he sounded as loud as LionClan, when in reality his voice was more like a dying sparrow's. "Nobody cares-"

"About you!" The voice yelled back to him.

Antkit groaned and looked up. Kestrelkit was standing right there, shaking his tail in the most stupid way possible. He swaggered before the smaller tom. Antkit's eye twitched.

"Leave me alone, you hypocrite." He moaned, swiping at the tall ginger tom's paws. "You are an imbecile. Your head should be the size of a berry, that's how dimwitted you are."

"No!" Kestrelkit stuck out his tongue and continued to do that idiotic dance. "I'm smarter than you!"

Pinekit's shout reached Antkit's ears. "The rest of us are grounded for only one day!"

"You're not allowed to play for much longer." Agreed Talonkit in a slightly calmer voice.

"Learn to count!" Owlkit shrieked. "Idiot!"

"Falconkit!" Kestrelkit went to complain to the skinny tom, who had stayed out of this, and was still lying in his nest with one eye open. "They're all being mean to me!"

Falconkit closed his eye and pretended to be asleep.

"M-m-mommy!" Kestrelkit screamed, stumbling over to Lizardpelt's side. "The other kits are bullies!"

"Ugh!" Pinekit spat. "I hate that stupid idiot!"

"He irritates me!" Owlkit said, in a voice so loud that Antkit had to step away from her. "I hope he actually dies, and not just in a game!"

No doubt, Antkit thought, she is remembering how Kestrelkit beat her in yesterday's game. She hadn't been so furious then, but now she wants to murder him. I suppose it's because of his insolent behaviour that has gone on recently.

Kestrelkit began crying, emitting loud, ear-piercing wails that exploded in Antkit's head with agonizing stabs. Pinekit and Owlkit, still raging, went outside to rant about him. Antkit followed, not wanting to hear another of those sounds coming from his denmate, and also ticked off about his incessant screaming.

"I can't believe how disgusting he is." Owlkit slammed her head into the outside den wall. "As his sister, I wish he was never born, he disgraces our entire family! The stupidity of his shallow mind..."

"Why couldn't I have been adopted by Darkstorm?" Pinekit lamented. "Now Kestrelkit is technically my brother!"

"His idiocy," Antkit agreed, "is akin to excruciating pain for my mind."

"Hey, guys." Talonkit meowed as she followed them out, Falconkit by her side.

The dark ginger tom flashed a small smile at the others. "Let's go do our duties."

"I know my brother's annoying, but we gotta ignore him." There was a sigh in Talonkit's mew. "Not long ago, he was still making dirt in his own bedding!"

Antkit made a face as everybody began moving towards the elders' den, slowly but surely, at a steady pace that all the kits could keep up with.

"Once, I had to change it." Pinekit shuddered with disgust as she spoke. "Because I was the oldest kit. Ugh. Did I tell you, right after I got adopted, I was trying to sleep and then Kestrelkit made dirt in my part of the nest, on purpose?"

"That's disgusting." Owlkit shuddered. Her fur was standing on end.

"You never told us how you got adopted." Talonkit said, changing the subject.
