My eyes remained locked on Camila, waiting for her to respond to the information that I had just revealed to her. It was a relief for her to finally know my feelings, but with every second that she remained silent I began to worry that these feelings were not mutual.
"Thank you."She whispered, a smile forming on her lips.
Thank you? I repeated in my mind, confused as to how that was the only response that someone could have to another person confessing their love. The hurt must have been ovcious on my face because seconds later I heard Camila gasp.
"Shit!"The younger girls cursed, taking my hand in hers."That made me sound like a complete asshole. It's just..."
"It's just what, Camz?"I asked, the pad of my thumb running across the top of her hand.
"Your words, they're so beautiful."She said softly, squeezing my hand."Now anything that I say to you is going to sound like complete shit."She explained, an embarrassed look on her face.
Leaning down, I placed a gentle kiss on her forehead.
"Don't ever say that. Your mind, your words, all of it is beautiful."I argued. When the corners of her lips tugged upward, causing the smile that I loved, a feeling of success rose inside.
"I've never told anyone my feelings for them before."She began, pausing for a minute as her chocolate brown hues focused on the sun that was now setting in the distance."Then again, there is no one that I have ever felt this way about."
Although she had only started speaking, those few words were enough to make me smile like a fool.
"From the moment I first saw you, I knew there was something special about you. We were on our flight, headed to the audition, and I was scared to death. My eyes were just scanning the different faces on the plane when this piercing set of emrald eyes locked on mine."She rambled on, a grin crossing her lips when she mentioned the part about me."Those few seconds felt like an eternity to me. I didn't even know your name but it was like.."
"Like you had known me forever?"I questioned, remember the situation as if it had happened just yesterday.
"Hey!"She smirked, nudging me with her shoulder."It's my turn to be the charmer with words here."She teased."But yes, that is exactly what it felt like. I had this sense of comfort and suddenly I wasn't scared at all. Of course when you looked away, the fear came back. But every time I would shut my eyes, I could relive that moment and I was okay."
Emotions began to run into me like a semitruck, but I tried my best not to let them show.
"I never really believed in love at first sight."Camila said, biting her lips as our eyes met."But then I met you and I knew that it was real. Or that I was delusional. Although the later might be true, I still believe it's real."
With every work that her soft voice spoke, I somehow felt my feelings for her grow stronger and stronger. These feelings that I had been trying to supress for so long were now burning like a wildfire, consuming all of me.
Just as I was leaning in to close the distance between our lips, allowing myself to taste the sweet, familiar taste of Camila that I craved, I heard the slamming of car doors from the front of my house.
"Shit."I groaned, rolling my eyes as I took a step away from Camila.
"Don't worry, I'm here all night."She said, smirking as she winked at me before turning and entering my house. I followed after her, smiling at my family as they entered one by one.
The last Jauregui to enter the home was my father, a large pizza in his hands.
"I thought maybe I should bring this for you two. I know how much you love it."He said, a smile on his face as Camila hugged him.
"You Jauregui's sure know how to make a gal happy."She commented, throwing a sly look my way as she opened up the box and grabbed a slice.
After we had managed to consume all of the pizza, Camila taking the larger portion, and had talked to my family for a good thirty minutes, all I wanted was to spend more time with Camila to discuss what exactly we were going to do.
"We're going to head upstairs so I can show Camila some of my new records."I informed them, stretching as I stood up from the couch.
"You girls have fun."My mom said and it took almost everything in me not to let my face be consumed by the smirk that I was fighting off.
"We will!"Camila said happily, standing by my side. I looked down at her, arching an eyebrow slightly.
"Chris and Taylor aren't coming back tonight, so you all have the whole upstairs to yourself. We'll be down here if you want anything."My dad added as Camila and I took off up the stairs.
As we entered my room, I shut the door behind us and made sure to lock it. When I turned around, I saw Camila shuffling through the crate of records that sat beside of my player.
"What are you doing?"I questioned, leaning against the wall as I watched her plunder.
"Looking through the records you wanted to show me."She replied innocently, withdrawing one of the vinyls.
"You know as well as I do that that was a lie."I teased, my eyes following her as she placed the disc on the player.
"We have all night to talk. Right now, we enjoy the music."She said, adjusting the volume as the beginning notes of Fallingforyou by The 1975 echoed throughout my room."Do you remember when we went to their concert?"
"How could I ever forget that night?"I asked, taking a step closer to her.
"It was pretty perfect."Camila whispered, looking up at me.
Don't you see me? I think I'm falling, I'm falling for you.
A strand of her brunette hair had fallen over her eye, but my fingers tucked it behind her ear carefully.
And on this night, and in this light, I think I'm falling, I'm falling for you.
"Dance with me."I told her, my hands slipping around her as I pulled her closer, not waiting for an answer. When her arms snaked around my neck, I began swaying to the music.
I took in everything about that moment, not wanting to forget it. I never wanted to forget the feeling of Camila's body pressed against mine, the way her sweet scent had taken over my senses, the way that every single lyric of the song was absolutely fitting to our situation.
You're all I need. According to your heart, my place is not deliberate. Feeling of your arms, I don't wanna be your friend: I wanna kiss your neck.
As the lyrics filled the room, and the song began to draw to an end, I felt a pair of soft lips press against the side of my neck. Slowly, they worked their way up until they greeted mine.
Althought Camila and I had kissed multiple times now, this one was different. The butterflies in my stomach had now transformed into fireworks. The way that our lips molded together, I could have sworn you that love was radiating off of us. It was so scary, yet so worth it. When all of our air supply had run out, I rested my forehead against Camila's as we both drew in shaky breaths, trying to supply the oxygen that our lungs demanded.
"Stop doing that."I whispered, opening my eyes slowly.
"Doing what?"Camila ask quietly, her eyes searching mine.
"Making me fall in love with you."
