Faces buried in our phones,
Eyes devouring every sentence,
Fingers poised to stake their claim,
Voices defending their every word,
Screaming till the world falls apart,
"This is what is true, as it's told to us by a respected member of our society!"
But if you look up from the screen,
And into the face of the liar,
The liar will swear his every word is true,
And you believe him.
After all, everyone is happier when the truth is hidden, right?
I am happier when we believe the lies they tell us.
But the world deserves to know the truth, unhappy as it is.
So tell me this, would you pick truth?
Or lies?
