It was a hot, sunny day in Shadyside. At the afternoons, you would usually see Cyrus Goodman sitting at the spoon with his two best friends, Andi and Buffy: but this time, he wasn't.Instead, he and his close friend, Tj, also known as the "not-so-scary-basketball-guy", went to motorcycle arena. Tj wanted Cyrus to come support him at his big, important race because when basketball season is over, the guy formally known as the scary basketball guy becomes the scary-dirt biker-guy.
"Wow, this place is huge!" Cyrus looked around, amazed by the size of the arena. He wasn't used to such big places, going to a place who is big enough to consume an amount of more than a thousand people made him feel uncomfortable, but he went to see Tj's race because he wanted to support his new crush.
"I know, right? It's seems so big when you first see it but after you come here every day, the size of the place doesn't even come to your mind." Tj replied, a big smile on his face. He really did miss this place, the fresh air, the huge crowd... everything felt just like home.
Tj and Cyrus started walking towards Tj's dirt-bike. "So you do this for half a year and then switch to basketball mid-year?" Cyrus wondered. "Pretty much, yeah. But I still train in basketball so I won't lose my fit for next season" he nodded; as he got to his motorbike he heard a familiar voice shouting a name, but it wasn't his. "Cyrus!" a voice of a guy, probably their age was heard from a distance.
"Jace!" Cyrus greeted the blonde teen coming his way. "What are you doing here?" he asked, curiously. "I was just about to ask you the same... you don't give out the vibe of a motorbike" Jace grinned. "Oh no I am not participating in this competition, but I guess you are?" he guessed, smiling.
As Tj watched the two from the side, he started feeling... sick? He wanted to remove his eyes from them but something inside of him didn't let him. He was feeling angry. How the hell did Cyrus became friends with that jerk? Well that's simple Kippen, you were that jerk and he befriended you, he answered himself, but it only got him more heated. He didn't want to stay there and watch his ex-boyfriend talking to his new crush, that's just... uncomfortable to watch.
As Tj's jealous thoughts got the best of him, he missed as Cyrus and Jace's conversation went on. When he caught up, it was the interesting part.
"Yeah, actually, I wondered... who are you here to support?" Jace asked, looking around. "tj Kippen, do you know him?" Cyrus smiled. "Of course I know Kippy!" the use of that nickname made Cyrus feel awkward. "Are you his new boyfriend?" Jace added, curiously. "Boyfriend???" he flipped. "What gives you that idea?" Cyrus answered, nervously. "Well kippy only brings the guys he's into to see him ride. That's how I got into it." Jace smiled, looking directly at Tj. Cyrus looked back to see Tj looking down out of shame. He was outed by his ex.
"Now that I know you're not dating him... would you consider dating me?" he smiled and winked at him. "No thank you, I prefer guys who doesn't out their ex's." Cyrus replied and walked away to check on Tj, but he was no longer there.
