Chapter 8

Olivia:

I threw my backpack on my bed and let my hair down. I took my bra off through my shirt and tossed it in towards the laundry basket in the corner of my room. It missed and landed next to it on the ground but I was too lazy to fix it. I kicked my shoes off and sat down on my bed. After another long day at school, I was pretty tired. I started to fluff my pillow when something caught my eye. Shayne had left his blinds open today and was currently taking off his shirt. God, why does he have to be so hot? I was about to take a nap but now I'm wide awake. He had his back to me so I couldn't see much, but even his back had muscles. I caught myself salivating and had to wipe my mouth. Jeez Olivia get a hold of yourself. I looked away for a second and looked back at the wrong time. Shayne had turned towards my window and was putting on a shirt over his abs. He caught me glancing and gave me a smile. I blushed as I quickly looked away. I flopped down onto my pillows and stared at the ceiling.

'Ding'

Huh? I fished my phone out of my pocket to see who texted me. To my surprise it was Mari, my only female friend from school. I don't really count Courtney just yet.

You wanna come over and hang out with me and the girls?

The girls? Kinda sounds like it might be fun. After all, I haven't really hung out without anyone outside of school yet. I texted back and let her know I was down. She texted back an address and thank god it was in the neighborhood. I don't know how I would have gotten there if it was too far. I sat back up and put on my shoes again. I debated putting a bra on again but decided not to, I was just hanging with friends so I didn't need that chest choker. I left my room and headed downstairs to leave. Before I left, I let my mom knew where I was headed. I headed out and followed the directions Mari gave me. Since I lived right next to Shayne, she was easily able to tell me how to get to her place. Once I got there I knocked on the door. Her house was pretty nice, a red painted two story house with vintage windows. Nobody answered so I hesitantly knocked again. Then Mari appeared on the other side with a bright smile.

"Olivia!" Mari said.

I could hear loud music coming from inside.

"Hey Mari" I said smiling back.

"Well come on in girl" Mari said happily.

I walked in beside her as she guided me to the living room. She wasn't lying, there were a bunch of girls here. I spotted Courtney immediately and then the one called Boze but I didn't recognize the others. There were two brunette girls sitting on the couch at the end, one thinner than the other, talking to each other. A tan girl who had short hair sat on the other side looking at her phone.

"Hi" I said to everyone.

They all looked up at me and stared, especially Courtney.

"What's she doing here?" Courtney asked.

"I invited her to hangout with us!" Mari said.

"You did?" Boze said suspiciously.

"Oh come off it you two, Hi, I'm Sarah and this is Kimmy" The larger brunette girl said.

"Hi, what's your name?" Kimmy asked.

"Duh it's Olivia Sui, the new girl?" Mari said for me.

For someone just as small as me she had a lot of energy.

"I'm Monica" The tan girl said from the couch.

I nodded and smiled. They seemed nice, well except for Courtney. I think I can have fun with them if they let me.

"So what song you guys playing?" I asked.

"It's 'you should see me in a crown' by Billie Eilish" Kimmy said.

"It's good isn't it?" Boze said.

"Yeah, I have a couple of her songs on my playlist, she's really good" I said.

"Really? She's like my favorite female artist" Boze said smiling.

"Yeah" I said.

"You're pretty cool kid" Boze said.

"You're only a year older than her grandpa" Sarah said.

"Whatever" Boze said rolling her eyes.

I chuckled and walked further into the living room and sat on the edge of the coffee table next to Monica. We all launched into a full blown conversation about who was going to marry Chris Pratt but nobody could agree. Somehow that led into a conversation about who would star in a movie and so on.

Time skip...

I looked at my watch and saw how late it had gotten. We were so caught up in watching movies, listening to music, talking, that we lost track of time. We were having too much fun, even Courtney was tolerable.

"Hey guys, I gotta head out or else my mom will kill me" I said.

"Aw man but we were having so much fun" Mari said dissapointed.

"Yeah can't you just stay for a little longer?" Sarah asked.

"I wish but she's really strict on these things" I said.

The girls all looked upset but understood. We all hugged and said goodbye before I left. I walked down the street towards my house under the dim street lights. I got inside my house and locked the door behind me. I snuck up the stairs so I wouldn't wake my mom and then went into my room. I took my shoes off and laid down in my bed before dozing off to sleep.
