Chapter 10

Olivia:

I hadn't really seen much of Shayne the rest of the week. I suppose that had to do with Courtney begging for more attention. I've only been here for some time and I can tell she's problematic.

Today was the day of the movie marathon at Shayne's house. I was a little bit nervous. Sure, I've been to his house before but I've never stayed the night even if it was with friends.

"Oliviaaa!" My mom called from downstairs.

I made my way down to find her in the kitchen.

"Yes mom?" I asked.

"Woah, where are you going looking like that?" She asked.

"Like what? These are my normal clothes" I said.

"You're wearing makeup and lipstick" She said giving me a look.

"I don't know what you mean, I wear makeup all the time" I said defensively.

"Mhmm" She said sarcastically.

I rolled my eyes and took an apple off the counter. As I took some bites, my mom talked to me about the night.

"So I know you're just going to be staying next door but don't be afraid to come back if you ever feel uncomfortable " My mom said.

"Mom it's just my friends" I said.

"And Shayne" She said.

"Well duh it's his house" I said.

"Is that what the lipstick is for?" She teased.

"Mommm!" I said embarrassed.

"Ok, ok, well don't forget to text me if you need anything" She said.

"Will do" I said throwing the apple core in the trash.

I got my phone off the charge, slipped ony my white vans and headed over to Shayne's house. Even though he lived right next door, the walk still felt like forever. When I was finally in front of his door, I gave it a light knock about two or three times.

Shayne opened the door with a thousand watt smile.

"Mahalo" I said smiling.

"The guest of honor has arrived!" He said excited.

I tried to hide my blush while Courtney came up behind him.

"Well aren't you going to invite her in?" She said.

"Everyone's all here, Mari brought candy and I set out some snacks" He said moving aside.

"Cool" I said walking inside.

I walked over to the living room and saw Noah and Keith wrestling in the middle of the floor. Mari was cheering them on while Damien rolled his eyes.

"Hey Olivia" Noah said while rolling over.

"Hey Liv" Keith said trying to get a better grip on Noah.

"Hey... What's up?" I asked confused.

"Oh, Mari bet us that I couldn't get Noah in a submission hold" Keith said.

"He still hasn't" Noah said grinning.

"C'mon Keith put him in the ankle lock or the banks statement or even the master lock" Mari said from the couch.

"You watch way too much WWE" Damien joked.

Time skip...

Pretty soon everyone had settled down and the movie marathon began. Shayne stood up in the middle of the room and dramatically made a show of explaining the whole 'Marvel' thing to me. We started off with Iron Man, which Shayne explained had nothing to do with clothes, and were now watching Ant-Man. I'll admit, I didn't really understand the appeal of the movies but some of the actors were hot.

"So what do you think of this one so far?" Shayne leaned over and asked.

He had to lean over Courtney's sleeping body and half of Keith just so I could hear him. Most people were sleep g since they saw the movies already and each one seemed to be about 2-3 hours long.

"I mean I appreciate that it does involve ants" I said.

Shayne let out a light chuckle.

"You're really funny, you know that?" He said smiling.

"I'm sorry it's just not my type of movie" I said.

"No, no, I get that, I realized that when you criticized the shawarma scene, I meant that you are genuinely funny" He said.

"Oh uh thanks" I said.

"Yeah I'm glad you moved here and I met you" Shayne piled it on.

"Thanks, I uh- can I use your restroom?" I asked, making up an excuse to get out of there.

"Sure it's upstairs on the left" He said.

"Thanks" I said scurrying away.

I went upstairs and into the bathroom and locked the door. I looked at myself in the mirror and freshened up. Out of the corner of my eye I saw some cologne. Curiosity got the better of me and I picked it up. Looking it over, I realized it was Shayne's. As I was reading the label, I accidentally pressed down and sprayed myself.

"Shit" I whispered to myself.

I quickly put it back down where I found it and tryed to wave away the smell from me. It wasn't working and I couldn't stop smelling the enchanting smell. There was a knock at the bathroom door.

"Hey you almost done in there?" A voice asked.

"Um yeah one sec" I said nervously opening the door.

To my surprise, on the other side of the door was none other than Courtney.

"Thanks" She said giving me a look.

As I passed by her to get out, I could see her confused face when she smelled the cologne. I didn't offer an explain and made my way back to the living room. I plopped down on the couch next to Keith again.

Shayne was now asleep as the movie transitioned into an action scene. I tried to keep up but found myself nodding off towards the end. I slowly drifted off to sleep.
