Chapter 3

It was quiet in the school infirmary. Everyone in Class 1-A had been checked by Recovery Girl. And remaining medical staff before, they were allowed to return home. The Unforeseen Simulation Joint was for training purposes only.

Allowing the young-heroes-in-training, a chance to experience. Some of what one could expect in the future, but it quickly became chaotic. Once the self-named League of Villains arrived. Everything started to feel more like a video-game plot.

Than simulation training for future heroes. Kirishima Eijirou had been one of these students. He was lucky to end up in the same area as Bakugou. The villains they faced were not that difficult.

But once they had reached the plaza. Kirishima couldn't remember seeing that sort of panicked look on Bakugou's features. As he had intercepted that Kurogiri's attack which had been aimed at Midoriya. Even now, Kirishima could more clearly see the trace of worry in Bakugou's eyes.

Most might ignore it and push it away as shock or stress. Bakugou was not an easy boy to read, he had a harsh exterior and a potty mouth on top of that. Yet so far Bakugou was not a complete delinquent, there were moments. Kirishima could now recognize the crackling tension between Bakugou and Midoriya.

It made no sense if they had known each other. In middle school, they should at least have been friends right? The red-haired-teen shook those thoughts away.

As he walked up to Bakugou and insisted they take a walk to the park nearby. Bakugou was reluctant to leave, he couldn't not now before he knew that Deku would be ok.

"Not now, Shitty Hair. I want to stay here." Bakugou remarked. Normally there would be a more convincing bite to the blond's tone. Now it just sounded foreign coming from Bakugou's lips.

Kirishima could see it better up close, the blond seriously needed a break. "Come on man, he's in good hands you know Recovery Girl. She's got over forty years of experience, and you need a break Bakugou. Midoriya he'll be here when we get back." The red-head reassured at first but Bakugou did not seem convinced.

"Ok, what if I buy a can of BOSS Premium Black?" Kirishima suggested a chuckle bubbled from his throat. Just watching Bakugou seemed more inclined to listen now. Apparently, the promise of canned coffee was one way. To get the blond to act more like his normal self again.

The air around them was fresher than the sterile hospital smell. And the park was quiet this time of day. Students were still in school and people still worked until the early hours of the night. Sometimes, even longer than that too.

Once the familiar can of coffee was within his sight. When Kirishima held it out to him, with such a friendly grin. Katsuki had to wonder when he'd managed to get friends like Kirishima and Kaminari? It was definitely better than the friends, he'd had in middle school.

Everything had been good, as long as he could have Deku to himself. But that was no longer an option. It hurt to think, what could have happened if he nor Kirishima only had been a few seconds later. Katsuki needed a distraction. Talking...had helped to a degree before. The blond took the can in his hands and could vaguely feel its warmth crawling up his hands and into his shoulders.

"How did you know I like this? I didn't tell you.." Katsuki asked with a frown.

"Eh? That one's easy Bakugou, you buy it by the vending machine at the station sometimes. And I saw Midoriya give you one last week. You shoved it into your backpack but still drank it during lunch." Kirishima explained.

"Haah? What are you shitty hair some creepy stalker?" Katsuki asked smugly, just like that the urge to tease returned. Was not like he could say *thanks,* as most would have done.

"Wha-!? No, that's not...hey... " The red-head panicked for a moment, but he soon realised Bakugou was teasing him.

"Look, man, you know there are nicer ways to tease people right?" Kirishima added with a huff, as he crossed his arms.
